Photos and Description of the Mentor vacation house rental
3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, a Homey Feel

Ranch Home close to Lake Erie and Parks.

This home is a Ranch. It has 3 bedrooms: a master and two additional. The bedrooms are on the south side of the home. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed (queen sheets and comforter) and at least two pillows (with two pillowcases per pillow), full closets and room for storage.

There is a 1/2 bathroom connected to the master bedroom from the west. Included in the 1/2 bathroom is a shower and shower curtain, toilet, sink with storage, vanity with storage, and 2 towel racks.

There is 1 full bathroom in the middle of the home with a shower and shower curtain, tub, toilet, sink with storage, vanity with storage, a medium-size storage shelf, and a towel rack. There is a storage closet south of the full bathroom, which can be used for storage, toiletries, etc. Inside are bath towels, wash clothes, and hand towels.

Traveling north in the hallway from the full bathroom you come to the pool room. The pool room comes with a pool table, pool cues, pool sticks, pool balls, a large open window, and a half wall which you can place your drinks/food on while playing some pool. To the east of the front of the pool room is the front door, which leads out to the front stoop.

Continuing on north from the pool room you enter the kitchen and family room (the kitchen breaks off to the west, and the family room to the north). The kitchen includes a large kitchen table (sits 6 comfortably, you can add more if you need be); double sink and faucet for doing dishes; a dishwasher; a stove with ventilation; a large fridge/freezer; cooking utensils; pots; pans; microwave, lots of storage throughout the kitchen cupboards, and a window west of the kitchen table for viewing the backyard.

South off of the kitchen is additional storage lining each wall, a high-efficiency washer, a dryer, water heater, and furnace. There is also a drying bar if you want to air dry your clothes above the washer and dryer. West of this area is a door leading to the backyard deck.

Traveling back through the kitchen into the family room is a large couch and love sofa to the east, a writing desk to the west, a large t.v. (includes cable and DVD player) to the northwest, and a large sliding glass window to the west which leads to the backyard deck.

To the southeast of the couch is a door leading out to the garage. It is a two car garage with opportunities for storage. The garage does come with a remote opener. If you want to leave the garage door shut there is a man-door to the north of the garage which leads out to the side of the home and west through a large gate into the backyard.

Traveling west into the backyard, the backyard stretches the entire length of the house (south). There is a large, natural wood deck which runs almost the whole length of the home. Toward the end of the deck is an island of river rocks and hosta's. There are hosta and plant beds along the south of the house and west following the fence around the backyard.

Heading back out to the front of the home is a concrete driveway and large front yard. There is a large dog-bone rock/plant bed in the front yard, as well as a plant bed running along the entire front of the home and down the southwest side of the home. We have done our best to include all the comforts and pleasures of a home away from home!

Why Kristin Peters chose Mentor

We choose this property because we love the area. It is close to fun activities, restaurants, parks and Lake Erie. The home is situated in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors.

What makes this house unique

The location is perfect! It is in walking distance of Veterans Park and the Mentor Lagooons. You can walk, hike, bike and spend time outside exploring nature. You can bike to Mentor-on-the-Lake Beach park to enjoy a picnic and bike lazily around town. Or bike to Headlands Beach State Park, enjoy the beach, then bike home. Lake Metroparks and many yummy restaurants are within a short walking/driving distance. We've done a lot to bring nature to the backyard. I especially love the river of rocks and the large deck: perfect for family get togethers.

The owners are always accommodating. We have stayed here several times. The house is big and roomy. Having two bathrooms was a plus. There are many things to do in the area. We enjoy taking walks at Headland's Beach and we found that Scooter's Dawg House has the best ice cream. The home is always extremely clean and it's well maintained. My husband enjoys watching sports on the big TV. I love shopping at the nearby Antique Co-Op. You would never sleep like you do here in a hotel. The street is quiet and so are the neighbors. You are close to fast food or sit down restaurants. We brought corn-hole and enjoyed playing in the front yard. We always look forward to our next visit.

My husband and I stayed two nights and it was very cozy and quiet. It's the perfect get away for just two, or for a whole family. Lots of near by stores for your convenience; including grocery, drug stores, and plenty of restaurants! The back yard was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the cool night air. We especially enjoyed cooking dinner in the spacious kitchen and playing pool! Pool table was a huge plus. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the opportunity to meet the nice owners of this home. We look forward to returning in the summer when we can enjoy the nearby Headland Beach and hiking trails.

Clean, Comfortable, and Quiet

This was a nice place for our family to stay for the weekend while we visited the sites in nearby historic Kirtland. Everything was clean, and the carpet looked new. The owners were easy to work with, even when our check-in time changed. The kitchen was well-stocked enough that we were able to prepare meals there. We had use of the double garage, which was helpful. We would stay there again if we were in the area!
