Our stay was for the month of Feb 2012. This was the best vacation we've ever experienced. The pictures were the exact replica of the property and condo. (We were a little apprehensive about booking because we could tell it was an older hotel.) We've been to other resorts and sometimes the pictures only show the positive aspects. The outside of the property was clean and very well maintained. Pool side lounge chairs were cleaned daily. The pool was warm and sparkling clean. There were even extras like pool floats and noodles available to use. If laying by the pool isn't what you like to do, the beach is a block or two away. Fort de Soto beach is a 30 minute drive and John's Pass is 2 miles. A rental car isn't necessary if you don't mind walking a few blocks. There's also a free cab service and beach trolly. Everything we needed was right there! We were impressed with the cleanliness and attentiveness to detail. When ever we had a question, the property manager was always a phone call away. The condo was spotless! The fishing docks were wonderful whether you are a fisherman or not. (the dolphins really do make daily visits) The egrets and Pelican's come to clean up the scraps. If seeing birds IS your thing... there's a bird sanctuary about 7 miles north in Indian Shores.... and it's free! The resort is small enough to where we could actually get to know the other guests and we made some lifelong friends. What a wonderful relaxing atmosphere! We met others from Finland, England, Ontario, Vancouver, Hungry, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, and New York. One of the guests brought his boat and would take us out in it in the bay. What a treat to be out in the water looking at the waterfront properties and boating with the dolphins! Everyone was very respectful of the other persons space and we had some great times in the Cabana! Happy hour, playing cards, watching American Idol, and having covered dish dinners together. We went deep sea fishing, then ate the fish we caught at the Friendly Fisherman! Our stay at the Malyn will always be imbedded in our hearts! We are definitely coming back!
