If your dates are not available, please see our other property, the Lemon Cottage, VRBO 447281 that came online January 2013.
Anna Maria Island is known for its laid back vibe and old Florida charm. A Lime Cottage beach house, also known as Parrot Eyes, is the perfect place to stay to enjoy all that the island has to offer. The beach house is less than a three minute stroll from the sugar white sandy beaches and spectacular sunsets of the Gulf coast. The property has a private landscaped backyard with heated swimming pool, propane BBQ grill and outdoor shower for rinsing off the beach sand.
With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a Lime Cottage accommodates 4 to 6 people. The newly updated master bedroom has a king size bed. The second bedroom has a versatile twin over queen bunk bed and has also been newly updated. Both bedrooms have new, quality mattresses to assure restful sleep on new luxuriously soft 500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. There are convertible sofas in each of the living areas. The living room has two new Queen sized sofa beds with premium upgraded spring mattresses featuring a memory foam layer.
The cottage is bright and open with plenty of windows to let in natural light. In the front is a spacious dining area with seating for 6. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge and ice-maker, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, utensils, dishes, cutlery, and yes, right down to a stocked spice rack. In addition to the living room, there is a separate Florida room to relax in. The casual cottage décor is bright and eclectic.
Ideally located on a quiet dead end street, a Lime Cottage is kid safe and away from the traffic and noise of Gulf Drive; yet it is conveniently close to shopping, restaurants, supermarkets and local attractions. For added peace of mind for parents of younger guests, access to the pool area is gated and there is no direct access from the rear of the house.
The cottage is a ground level bungalow with minimal steps and no stairs to negotiate, making it accessible for seniors or those with mobility impairments.
We think our beach house is a terrific mix - conveniently close to local attractions, charmingly unpretentious, bright and airy, not too big and not too cramped. These are the reasons why many past guests come back and stay at this cottage year after year and view it as their second home. We welcome them back and we welcome you to visit as well.
We encourage you to contact us should you have any questions as we’re easily available by email and strive to respond quickly. We look forward to sharing our Cottage beach house.

Chris, Steph and the girls are a family from Toronto, Canada. As northerners...brrr...we seek warmth…any kind of warmth. You'll find an abundance of all kinds of warmth right on the island - warm smiles, warm breezes and warm water. We've fallen in love with the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere on Anna Maria Island, and we think you will too.
With seven miles of gulf coast beach, Anna Maria Island is comprised of three cities (not the kind of large scale city most of us would envision) with a combined population of under 10,000 – it feels more like a seaside town. The pace of life is laid-back. Local residents are warm and greet visitors like family. There are no high rise condos blocking beach views and access. Fast food chains are virtually absent, allowing visitors to discover unique local establishments.
I get this euphoric feeling every time I go to Anna Maria. It starts as soon as I arrive at Tampa Airport. It grows with the first pelican I see soaring in the sky, and is followed quickly by the scent of sea air. With each bridge that I cross on the drive down to the Island, I can feel my shoulders start to relax and my tensions fade. Once I’m over the last bridge on Cortez or Manatee, I know I'm in for a treat, because it's finally Island time!
The whole family loves the flora and fauna near the beach house. The colors are vivid. Palm trees rustle in the warm breeze. Tropical birds and cute little lizards (that help keep nuisance insects at bay) dart by. Gentle manatees glide by silently in the intercoastal waterway . Sea turtle nests appear on the beach. There's even a wildlife sanctuary just down the street (you’ll recognize it by the bunny rabbits and turtles in the front yard enclosure). Our kids love to visit the bunnies to feed them carrots and lettuce.
We can take a barefoot early morning walk to the beach and see the dolphins cavorting in the ocean. And we can return in the evening to watch the sun go down. Every sunset is different - sometimes the sky is filled with dramatic puffy clouds and every shade of crimson, magenta and blue and other times the sky is clear as the fiery orange ball drops below the horizon.
