Wow! What a wonderful place for a romantic getaway! Amazing views of the Sandy River against a backdrop of the forest and mountains! The amenities were all in great working order and the place had pretty much everything we needed. Both the housekeeper and the pool guy were friendly and responsive to our requests. This place is great for a couple or a small family of sound sleepers. Unfortunately, we had three teenagers, and with the two bedrooms right above each other, we had trouble sleeping due to the lack of soundproofing between the rooms. We hope to come back soon, but will make other arrangements for the teenagers next time! ?

This house was amazing! I stayed here alone to work on a writing project. I felt like Goldilocks wandering from room to room, delighted at what I saw. The minute I walked through the door, I felt welcomed into luxury. The owners either have impeccable taste, or they’ve hired an interior designer. Natural earth tones are found throughout the cabin, reflecting the beauty of nature outside. The furniture, appliances, bedding, big fluffy towels, and even the silverware are all high-end. It’s like staying in a private, five-star hotel on the river! It seems that the entire cabin has been designed for guest comfort.
The layout is spacious, yet cozy at the same time. The kitchen, dining room and living room are “great room” style, with high ceilings; a wood burning stove, big comfy couch, and plush carpet that makes you feel right at home. “A” frame houses can be dark, but the entire west side of the house is a wall of windows that open to a gorgeous view of the river that is just a few feet from the back deck. Upstairs, a loft area stocked with a desk and guilty pleasure books, leads to the second hideaway bedroom, which has its own half bath, and a private balcony.
Which brings me to my favorite part about this cabin…the river. Since I was alone and writing, the cabin was mostly silent, and the entire time, I could hear the steady rush of water outside. It brought a sense of calm, much like watching the ocean. Sitting in the sparkling clean hot tub at night, under a moon that made a surprise visit through the clouds, listening to the water splash against the rocks, was pure heaven. I returned home filled with a sense of peace, and I’m sure that the river had a lot to do with it. If you do stay here one day, I invite you to turn off the music and the television, and play chess or read a book, and experience the sound of the river.

I stayed at this cabin with with three generations of women from my family. There were four of us. All cook, all picky, and all opinionated. And we all loved this cabin!
Great beds, (always the first consideration for a 5 star rating). Upgrades in kitchen and bath. The kitchen opens to the living area so we could all talk while cooking. The cabin is both small and spacious. Loved the fall runner on the table with the candles. Appreiciated the wood stove with glass in the front, (to see the flames) and lots of dry wood nearby. Of course the view was awesome but we could also hear the river. Very nice. This may be a small thing but after staying many places I liked the high quality pots and pans and the well stocked pantry. Clean and fresh throughout. Not cluttered and well decorated. Within 30 minutes of Timberline Lodge and the Troutdale Outlets! Not to mention the gorgous fall color nearby.

Beautiful Cozy Cabin Getaway with Hot Tub

My husband and I had just gotten married and thought this would be a great second mini-honeymoon opportunity. We arrived in the dark stepping on to a beautiful stone porch. We had no difficulties with the key box and getting in. We walked in to see beautiful hardwood floors, a granite countertop kitchen which was fully stocked, a guest bedroom, a full bathroom with a stacked washer and dryer and an amazing back porch, all windows that lead out onto a deck that had a railings, a bbq and a hot tub. Again it was pitch black so we explored the rest of the house to find an loft that also looked out, with a bedroom upstairs with a balcony.
Both nights we were there,we used the wonderful hot tub! It was clean and had blue lights and we found it very relaxing! This is one of the KEY reasons I wanted to come here.
Upon waking up the next morning in the daylight, to our amazement, we saw the river right outside the back porch’s window. We had an amazing view with no houses or people in the scene. It was very nice weather to hang out on the deck and be at peace with the outdoors. Even though we did have neighbors on both sides of us, we felt so secluded as we couldn’t see them or hear them much.
Saturday morning and afternoon, we went hiking up and down trails. Lots of rocks and logs to climb over but the walk was nice and a perfect thing to do on such a sunny day. We saw some people tanning and having campfires out on the riverbanks which seemed like a great idea.
All in all, this is property is amazing with gorgeous views of the river and a quiet place to stay in. If you’re looking to escape the loud and busy city, come and stay here! The property manager is very friendly, readily available and is very helpful. She will answer your questions and will work with you to address any concerns you may have. So what are you waiting for? Come and check out this lovely getaway for yourself!

Perfect Vacation!

My fiancé and I were celebrating our recent engagement, and decided to take a gamble on this new property. We found it online and emailed the owner a boatload of questions. She responded promptly and answered everyone, and continued to be helpful throughout the process.
We arrived on Friday after a short drive from Portland to the cabin. It was easy to find and had ample parking. It is in a community of other vacation homes, though once inside the home you feel totally secluded.
We were immediately impressed, as the pictures do not do it justice. It was cozy, yet roomy inside, with a modern cabin feel. Decore was tasteful and comfortable. And oh the view out the back! The house sat right on the river! But more on that later.
Inside the kitchen had granite counters, and plenty of pots/pans/spices, etc. The dining room table had seating for 6, though it didn’t feel too large for just the two of us. It was the perfect setting for romantic dinners.
The living room had plenty of seating and a TV and DVD player. Though we didn’t watch anything, the seating was comfortable and suited the home well. The living and dining spaces were two stories tall, with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the river.
There were two bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. There was also a small office nook upstairs as well. We took the bedroom downstairs. The linens and bed were very comfortable, even more so than my own bed at home.
But back to the best part, the outdoor space: The back deck was huge and had lounge chairs, as well as a table and chairs with umbrella where we ate our dinner Friday night. I spent a part of the evening reading with the river in the backdrop and sprawled out on the chairs. There was also a very nice hot tub on the deck with views over the river. Late at night we tested it out, and just watched the stars.
Needless to say the trip was far too short (only two nights), and we are looking for an excuse to go back as soon as possible. I highly recommend this for 1 or 2 couples, or even a small family. It was a fantastic place to celebrate, and couldn’t have been more serene. I am telling all my friends and family about this place!!
