2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 9, outdoor SPA with forest view on back of cabin

Built in 1928. The home was one of the first homes on the street when it was originally built. The cabin has been completely restored making it one of the nicest and cleanest cabins on the mountain for its age. Open floor plan in the downstairs living and dining areas making it feel very roomy and cozy. The downstairs has oak flooring and tile throughout. All the upstairs has brand new carpet. Both bathrooms are tiled and you have an option of taking a bath in restored old fashioned claw foot tub or a shower in the upstairs bathroom. The house is located in a prime location 1 block off the main road making it very accessible in the winter snow and to all the various activities in the local community. Very large backyard with swing set, the back of house is against approx. 50 acres of virgin forest that can be enjoyed from the brand new wrap-around deck. Excellent hill in back yard for sledding in the winter snow. Views of the backyard make it feel very secluded and private. The Jacuzzi is located in the private patio area on the backside on the house.

Everything in the cabin is brand new including the brand new memory foam mattresses on the Queen and Twin Beds.

For your entertainment: The cabin has a 42 in. flat screen TV in the living room and 32 in. in upstairs master bedroom. Cable TV and wireless internet service. With the rental of our cozy cabin it includes rights to enjoy all the various Private Lake Arrowhead Beach Clubs (Summer Months).

About Kris Norlander

Our Cabin was built in 1928. This is my wife and my first home that we bought in 2000. The two of us got married in 2002 and started major renovations to the Cabin, including all new wood flooring, tile, insulation, electrical wiring and drywall. The Cabin was completely gutted and everything was replaced with new material. This was all done while we lived in it spending every weekend making repairs for 8 years. I would never recommend anyone to live in a home while doing the type of repairs we did. In 2006 we had our first set of twins (Boy and Girl) and two years later we were blessed with our second set of twins making the Cabin that we love feel very small. In 2010, we moved out of our Cabin to a larger home and rented out our Cabin full time for one year. In 2012, our little Cabin was converted into a Vacation Rental and everything has been restored again to a new condition once again.

Why Kris Norlander chose Lake Arrowhead

My wife and I have lived in this area all of our life and would not live anywhere else in Southern California. It is a wonderful cozy little cabin that you will feel so comfortable in with all the amenities you would need to make it a perfect vacation location. We love our little Cabin and have taken so much pride in making it a home for us and have now invested time and efforts to make it a wonderful experience for you and your family. We hope that you enjoy your stay here and hope that everything is to your expectations.

What makes this cabin unique

People all across Southern California have driven up to our mountains every winter to enjoy the snow and sledding. Our cabin has some of the best sledding right in the backyard, plus the unoccupied 50 acres of forest right up against the cabin makes it a perfect place for the kids to get out and use all the built in energy. There is a local hiking trail directly in the backyard that is easily accessible.

One of the few cabins on the mountain that has a private Jacuzzi on the back patio that runs year round. Quite an experience to be out in the middle of winter enjoying the fresh snow from the relaxing Jacuzzi.

We wanted to find the perfect cabin for our family and friends to celebrate the New Year! This cabin was perfect, as it really catered to the kids. They have toys, a playground in the backyard, and we were even able to sled right in the backyard! If you want the perfect get away, then this is your spot!

The cabin was great! Located right off the highway, we got there right as it was snowing. The neighbors are friendly, the cabin is cozy and warm with a fireplace stove. There's a jacuzi out back which is awesome to take a dip in as it's snowing around you! There's also central heating so if it's cold outside it'll certainly be warm inside! Full kitchen is nice too! big HDTV was awesome, easy to plug in a PS3/XBOX360 or your computer via HDMI. Overall I highly recommend this cabin! Owner is very friendly and accommodating too.

Great cabin for a nice relaxing getaway

My wife and I had an awesome time staying at the cabin. It's definitely as advertised, clean, pretty well stocked kitchen (could maybe use a toaster) but otherwise really nice. Bed was super comfortable and the place just had a really great overall energy and feel. It was nice to look out of the many windows and see trees all around, and our dogs had a blast hanging out on the enclosed deck and walking in the woods. Great proximity to Blue Jay and the village of Lake Arrowhead. Lots of nature trails around and endless outdoor activities.

Kris, the owner is super nice and really responsive...he even checked in to make sure that the hot tub was working properly...it never got quite hot enough, but I think something was wrong with it, and since it was over the weekend I didn't really expect someone to come out and fix it...we didn't care though because that awesome wood burning stove kept us plenty warm and heated the living room so nicely, what a great addition to this place! There was also central heat so the place is plenty warm on cold nights.

Anyway, I can't say enough about how great this place is...I would definitely go back and stay again, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to get away to.

This was by far way better than we expected. Since it was our first time renting a cabin for the weekend we really didn't have high expectations and still we were amazed at how much better the experience was than getting a hotel in the city.

The entire cabin smelled so nice when we first walked in and all throughout the weekend, made it seem so warm and cozy. Everything was clean and perfect for our stay, we will be recommending this property to our friends and family, and we will surely be back for another wonderful stay.

Family from Ireland

We had a fabulous week in the cabin. We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and fresh mountain air. The kids loved the swing and slides out the back and we have enjoyed eating outside as this is something that we haven't had the pleasure of doing in Phoenix, AZ. as of yet. We explored lake arrowhead village, burnt mill beach, big bear lake and we even made a day trip to Disneyland, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The cabin was wonderful and we will bring very happy memories back to Ireland when we return later this year.

Charming Cabin at Lake Arrowhead

Submitted: September 28, 2012 Stayed: July 2012
The Cabin on Bearsprings Rd in Rimforest was just as advertised. It was very clean and very comfortable. The memory foam queen bed that we slept in gave us a good night's sleep, as did the twins for my daughter and son-in-law. Although we did not spend much time in the cabin, it offered a comfortable living room with the big tv, a nice kitchen, and a large dining area that we did not get a chance to use. The owner was very helpful and even gave us a bottle of good wine when there was a temporary kink with the cable box. The location is close to Arrowhead and other small towns nearby. I enjoyed hiking to the top of the fire, lookout tower that is just up the road that sports a fantastic view of adjacent mountains as well as the Southland below. We also used the pass to the beach at Arrohead and only regret not getting to the suggested waffle restaurant at Lake Arrowhead Village. Regarding the cabin, it is nice, clean, and comfortable rental in a good location. We would definitely stay again on a visit to the area.

We had a wonderful time in your cozy mountain cabin!! We enjoyed your recommendations of things to do in the Welcome book. We visited the strawberry fire lookout and experienced an absolutely spectacular view of the surrounding areas. We made our way to the heaps peak arboretum for a peaceful and relaxing hike, learning about the local plant life in the beautiful San Bernardino mountains. The weather was ideal and the scenery was gorgeous. We walked the village and had a nice lunch at Papagayo's. We wish we could stay longer, but it was a perfect little getaway!! Thank you again for letting us enjoy your beautiful home and we hope to return soon!!

Last Minute Vacation

Submitted: September 28, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
Couldn't be more pleased with our decision on where to take a vacation at. To think my 8yr old wanted the mountains rather than the beach, so she could bring her puppies. We had a great time. The cabin was darling, very cozy and warm. Loved the tub! Kris was great, available with every question I had, including where to find and emergency Vet...which was 2 cabins down! I would recommend this place in a heart beat to anyone who wants to get away. The playground in the back was wonderful for my girl too!
