This is not your usual beach rental house. It is a well built home with excellent attention to all the little details that you would expect in any upscale home. Everything works as it should, beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen is wonderfully equipped. We have never stayed in a rental so well supplied with towels, kitchen towels, bed linens, and blankets. Also couldn't ask for it to be any closer to the water! The most important part to us was the fact that it was also very clean. Thanks so much for a wonderful few days on Dauphin Island.

This was one of the best houses on Dauphin Island. I have stayed in several of them. Plenty of seating for all. House was clean and decorated nicely. Having the small pool is a great way to cool off. The house is right on the beach too. A lot of places say they are, but aren't. I would love to rent this house every year.

Best Place On the Island!!!! The view, the spacious nature of the house, and the quality craftsmanship are things that only after a hard days work can you truly appreciate.

We stayed at GRACE LIKE RAIN for our spring vacation. After traveling all the way from Michigan in horrible traffic we arrived at out destination and were not disappointed!! The pictures do not do this house justice! It truly is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Sometimes rentals can be outdated, not this home! The couches were so comfortable! Our children wanted to sleep on them every night. The kitchen was great. Fully stocked was correct by another reviewer. It was nice to be able to have access to a washing machine. The linens provided were great and the use of beach chairs. I personally had my coffee on the deck every day. Having 2 coffee pots was a great 'touch'. Which shows how the owners truly have thought of everything! If you want to rent a property on Dauphin Island, you will not be disappointed in this gem.

'Grace Like Rain' is so very comfortable, relaxing and easy for families! We went with 2 other families, totaling 14 ( 6 adults, 3 teens, 4 kids, and a 2 mo old baby) and one of our dogs. Three of the bdrms were just right for each of the couples, including one that is tucked away where mom/dad and new baby could have quiet. The 'kids wing', consisting of 2 bdrms & a full bath, worked perfectly for all our kids. We had amble indoor living space with plenty of comfy seating for everyone. There's also enough seating to all eat together. The adults sat at the dining table and all the kids at the kitchen bar. We cooked and/or BBQ'd every night. No need to leave! Outside is even better! VERY kid/family friendly. The owners have really thought this out- from the large railed & furnished porch, to the trunks full of beach goodies (chairs, toys, nets, etc), to the 2 outdoor showers. The stairway gate was invaluable for the little ones and our dog. The view is spectacular , unobstructed and quite private. We loved just hanging out on the deck and watching our kids & dog play & play & play!
P.S. The pool is n/a during the winter time, but the double shower made up for it w/ the kids!

Grace Like Rain is even more than the pictures can show. This is a home on the beach & has so much more character than can be expressed through the internet. I have already told everyone I know about this wonderful home away from home. Thank you for sharing it with us! My whole family had a wonderful, cold weekend at the beach!! Since the weather was cold, we spent most of our time inside the house, and it was PERFECT for my family of 12. Everybody was able to do exactly what they wanted ... watch football, eat, play games or take a nap! I would recommend this to everyone!

We had an awesome stay at Grace Like Rain. The home was exactly as presented on the website. It was clean, had all the ammenities we needed and was very comfortable. The owner was very helpful with any questions we had from start to finish. While we were there, we cooked in most every night. The guys fished off the beach right in front of the house - my husbands highlight of the trip was the huge redfish he caught. We saw dauphins swimming a few times out in front of the house also. We walked out on what the locals call "sand island" behind the school. We saw lots of stingrays up close to the shore, found tons of shells and the scenery was beautiful!! We were there in mid December, so it felt like we had the island mostly to ourselves. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who plans to visit Dauphin Island.

The house is wonderful. The living area is so spacious and has seating to meet every taste. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. My family loves to cook and we didn't want or need anything. We brought some of our own items like a crock pot, good knives and a few good pots and pans but we just left them in the car because whoever set this kitchen up, loves to cook...that is obvious! There are windows everywhere so you always have a great view of the water. The deck facing the water is very spacious and a good portion of it is covered which we loved. It's the perfect spot for gathering! We saw many dolphins and shrimp boats so the veiw is wonderful!

All of the appliances are wonderful including state-of-the-art washers and dryers, however, there were plently of bath towels and beach towels for everyone in our group of 8 so we didn't have to do laundry all the time like we have had to do at other rentals.

It rained the first 3 days we were there but it was okay because there are TV's everywhere, games to play, and even coloring books and crayons for our daughter.

We used the pool everynight and loved that it was heated (we were there in October). It was so relaxing to relax in the warm pool everynight with the sound of the ocean all around us.

We loved that the kitchen table was so big and that we were able to easily fit all 8 of us around the table with plently of room to spare for every meal.

We all agreed that we want to make this house an annual destination. We have no desire to check out other homes on the island because this one was perfect!

We are looking forward to our return in 2013!
