A spacious family villa, this property is ideally suited for multi-generational vacations. Equipped with a variety of children's toys and books as well as an extensive beach library for everyone else this property is sure to have something to amuse everyone. The private pool on the deck allows for quick dips day and night. Just a 5 minute walk down to Dawn Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, will give you access to some of the best snorkeling on the island. At the far end you can walk to a gourmet dinner and gambling at the Westin Hotel.

All the beaches on Saint Maarten have public access. Some are deserted, but many have both beach bars as well as activities, including a variety of water sport equipment rental. Every day you can go to a different beach.

A duty free port, SXM has some great bargain shopping. Phillipsburg has a large selection of beautiful jewelry and watches as well as a long boardwalk on a lovely beach.

Things to Do: Margot, on the French side has European designer shopping as well as a large outdoor market. This is also where you can get the ferry to Anguilla for a day trip.

Saint Maarten has many excursions available from sailing on a 10 meter America's Cup yacht to a tour on a Pirate Ship. Fishing, sailing, windsurfing, Jet skiing, snorkeling and scuba diving and para sailing are all easily accessible on the island. There is an activity for everyone.

A minute drive away is the best baby beach n the island, Galion Beach/Coconut Grove. As we affectionately call it, Coco Lobo is just past the Butterfly Farm, where you can witness an impressive display of Lepidopterology and botany in the early mornings as the butterflies break out of their cocoons. Coco Lobo is also a popular kite sailing local; always exciting to watch.

House has spacious living areas including a dinning room table that seats 12, everyone can come together in the evening to share their various adventures. A beautiful view across the ocean to the twinkling lights of St. Barths, even at night the view can't be beat.

About SUZANNE

Born in the USA, we moved to Montreal, Canada in the 1960's. We have the splendid privilege to enjoy some of the best skiing on the East coast and then fly down to Saint Maarten to some of the best beaches in the Caribbean! We custom built this villa so that we can accommodate all of our 4 children and their families. An added bonus has been that we can travel with our dogs too. Life is good!

Why SUZANNE chose Oyster Pond

Situated on the eastern border between Dutch/French Saint Maarten we are located in an area developed for villas. We avoid the extremely tourist areas without losing any convenience. Just 10 minutes from Phillipsburg everything we need is nearby. The French side has great restaurants and excellent convenience stores; French baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolate every morning.

What makes this villa unique

With a spectacular view of the beach and ocean and the gentle trade winds our home is a true paradise. Even at night we have the twinkling lights of St. Barths in our sites. A private garden behind the house is a great place for morning coffee and if you are lucky maybe you can find some fresh lemons or limes. Even visiting several times a year there is always something new to discover on the island of Sint Maarten - St.Martin. This is truly a tourist paradise with an endless variety of activities and so many beautiful beaches it is impossible to 'do it all' in one trip.

Our group of eight adults returned to the Dawn Beach area this year for perhaps the tenth consecutive year. Last year (2012) we stayed at Fiddler's Green because our prior rental wasn't available for the time we desired. When it came time to make plans for this year (2013) it was unanimous to return to Fiddler's Green. In a nutshell, the combination of location, amenities, and security won us over (and we have already signed up for another stay in 2014.)
Maureen and Justin are terrific on-site caretakers and the owners are very accommodating and easy to work with.
The ocean breezes are constant, beverage and dining spots are nearby, and wonderful Dawn Beach is but a short walk down the hill (and a bit longer one up.).
As stated above: "Simply Perfect!"

Recommended for: Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

Fiddlers Green is a fantastic spot for a family vacation... St Maarten exceeded our expectations: sun, beaches and french food. The house is very well maintained, is spacious and well laid out. It's 15 mins from Phillipsburg where there is great shopping and provides easy access by car to several beaches, on both the Dutch and French side. After a hard morning at the beach, the deck with swimming pool is a wonderful place to enjoy the afternoon. On day 2 we found the local store 5 mins away that had fresh baguettes and croissants every morning!!! Oyster Pond is a great area to explore with bars and restaurants dockside where you can get to know some of the local expats who will give you the tips and tricks of the area.
Our family had a most enjoyable vacation and are already planning our next one to St Maarten...

To put it in a nutshell....my stay at Fiddlers Green was heavenly!! To wake up to the sound of the ocean and to overlook its majesty every morning was delightful. The house is spacious and uncluttered. The rooms well appointed and comfortable. We felt secure and enjoyed the lush gardens and surrounding beauty every day on our morning jog. The local bakeries and grocery stores are 5 minutes away, as well as a vast array of wonderful resaturants....the Dinghy Dock was our favorite Happy Hour hangout. So close to the best of the beaches that St. Maarten has to offer....and a very short trip in to Philipsburg for amazing shopping!!
Highly recommend. We had no problems and the communication with the owners was excellent.

Fiddlers Green, the villa and it's location is truly a paradise in own right, and without doubt exceeds the legendary imagined afterlife to which it's named after. MY wife, 2 kids and I stayed here for 2 weeks, this was our third stay and once again the accommodation and location ticked all the boxes that make a vacation one to remember. The villas facilities (rooms, kitchen, wifi, cleaning, parking, privacy etc.), pool (kid friendly), garden and a very large patio with a spectacular view of St. Bart's overlooking Oyster Pond makes this a perfect spot to vacation in St. Maarten. The proximity to some amazing beaches such as Dawn Beach, Gallon/Coconut Grove and Orient, as well as the Westin Hotel, Captain Oliver's Marina, the Yacht Club, Mr. B's, Bobo's for afternoon cocktails add to the many attractions and charm that 'Fiddler's Green' has to offer. We would absolutely recommend staying here, and we also plan to vacation here again in the future.

Just a note to say that we had a very relaxed week in your beautiful villa. We enjoyed the gorgeous view of the ocean and Oyster Pond, particularly at sunrise.
The villa is well located to visit many areas of the island. The suggested itinerary provided by you served as a great guide to this very pretty and friendly island. We enjoyed the quality of the restaurant cuisine in the Oyster Pond area as well as our many walks to nearby Dawn beach. We also thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Moreen and Justin, the caretakers of your Fiddler's Green Villa.

Thank you for the use of your beautiful home. The setting and view are spectacular and Moreen and Justin are very gracious. As the 10 of us sit here on the deck our last morning, it is very quiet. No one wants to leave in a few hours. We have had a wonderful vacation - and we are all still friends after a week of togetherness!
