This is one of the few resorts that is on a sandy, swimming beach with DIRECT ocean front views and central A/C. The views are to die for, whether you are on your private lanai, swimming in the ocean front pool, or relaxing in the hot tub!
At the Mahana you will experience an upscale boutique resort atmosphere on Kaanapali's scenic North Beach, yet the quiet surroundings provide uncommon privacy. Breathtaking Pacific Ocean views, including the beautiful islands of Lanai'i to the south and Molokai'i to the north, seem to meet you at your living room floor to ceiling window. Each morning will start with this wondrous view as you gaze out your bedroom ceiling to floor window. From the lanai, you can enjoy many tropical sights and sounds as you enjoy your morning coffee or your sunset-watching libation. These glorious views are also your backdrop while enjoying the pool, which is salt-filtered (not chlorine - hard on your skin) pool and BBQ area. Miles of open beach beckon you to snorkel among the pristine coral reefs, take a walk (or run!), or just lay back and soak up the sun – be sure to have the sunscreen handy! Shopping and dining are nearby, and the famous Whalers Village, with its eclectic blend of boutiques and memorabilia shops - there's even a whaler's museum - is just a short drive or walk away. With the Mahana's central location, golfers will enjoy the closeness to Kapalua and Kaanapali's golf courses.
The restaurant 'Duke's Beach Grill' is just next door - a few minutes walking distance - serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with ocean front views! Or, you can take a short drive into historic Lahaina town for sightseeing - on land or sea, restaurants that will satisfy a great number of tastes, and a selection of shops that will help you find that great reminder of your wonderful Maui vacation.
A newly completed boardwalk starts just outside the Mahana, and ends at the Hyatt Regency – about 3 miles away. It goes through Whalers Village in the heart of Kaanapali. On this walkway, there are parks, water activity rental kiosks, and restaurants, so driving isn't a necessity for a myriad of activities.

We came for a one-time Hawaiian vacation, fell in love with Maui and The Mahana, and decided to make it a permanent part of our lives!
Maui has been voted “Best Island” by readers of Conde Nast Traveler for more than a dozen years. Maui has endless activities for vacationers, from fabulous beaches to fantastic dining and nightlife.
The Mahana is unique in the fact that it is within feet of a beach, and has private lanais looking directly at the beach and the Pacific Ocean. Located on the northwest side of the island, the Mahana is not far from Lahaina. Once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom in the early nineteenth century, Lahaina was also a historic whaling village during the whaling boom of the mid-1800’s. Today, the city blends its rich history with today's many modern activities creating a wonderful tropical paradise.
Come see all that Maui has to offer!
A sunset cruise around the island makes for a perfect romantic evening. If you’re curious about what goes on under the waves, snorkeling tours are a great way to view the incredible variety of life that lives under the surface of the ocean. If you don’t want to get wet, there’s even a submarine that can take you into the deep while you view its mysteries from the comfort of a warm cabin. Helicopter tours are an excellent way to take in the views of the whole island, including incredible waterfalls, sea cliffs and forest you would hard pressed to view on foot. For those looking for a little more excitement, you can take an ATV tour or check out the Zip Lines at Kapalua or the West Maui mountains
