Very relaxing vacation

This is an excellent place for your family vacation.
The unit is large and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with probably every utensil you'd need on a vacation. The living room is spacious and it's very pleasant with the porch door open. I thought the TV was a little small, but part of that is the couch is so far from the TV. The master bedroom was comfortable but not much drawer space. The master bath has dual sinks and lots of cabinet space under the sinks. The second bedroom had twin beds and the bathroom there also opened to the main living quarters. Again, one small dresser. There's a TV in both bedrooms. The picture in the description is your view from the living room and porch/balcony.
The beach is just down the wooden stairs. Those blue umbrellas and beach chairs you see are put up in the morning by the staff. Louise has put some in storage, I think, if those are all taken. One thing I haven't seen mentioned in the other reviews is that there's a lifeguard on duty. (Guard your daughters. They were young men who lifted weights and did push-ups and crunches to keep busy). My guess is that this service is only available during the season.
Location, location, location, and this unit is well situated. There are two major outlet malls, and they are both within 5 miles, one each way. Baytowne Wharf is the place for nightlife with all kinds of drinking and dining options, along with shops and some things for the kids. Many major food chains are near-by. For local flavor I recommend Camille's. Pizza is one of their specialties but they also have some great entrees. My wife had a grilled grouper over pasta and loved it. Save room for dessert: fudge covered homemade bread pudding with homemade pistachio ice cream!! We also liked Pompano Joe's, a restaurant and bar with lots of seafood. If you like fondue, try the Melting Pot. Save room for the chocolate dessert fondue.
The marina is nearby for almost anything you want in water sports. We went on a dolphin cruise which was a little disappointing. I've been on several where the boat races and the dolphins follow in the wake, jumping and playing. This cruise took us out to where the pods hang out and we got to watch them rise to breathe, so 5 second glances. There's also a water slide park, bumper boats, and lots of other activities if you get bored with the beach.
All in all, this was a great vacation. It's right on the beach and the unit is wonderful.

Owner's Response: Thanks, some great suggestions. We try to make our guests experience a memorable one. We are purchasing a larger TV for the living room and also providing more storage for the bedrooms. Just to clarify, there are 2 full sized beds in the guest bedroom. We appreciate guest reviews as it enables us to maintain the condo at a high and comfortable level.

Nice, clean, updated condo with a great beach view and access

I can't say enough about the owner of this property. She treated us so well. We had an issue with another condo (from a different VRBO owner) and the owner of this property quickly got this condo ready for us to stay on very short notice. The owner actually came out and cleaned the condo herself for us so it was super clean. The furnishings in the condo are up to date, modern and cozy. The pictures really don't do it justice. Everything you could need was provided, even a floor fan in the master bedroom. I was greatful for the fan as I have trouble sleeping without one and I forgot my travel fan. The furniture on the balcony was so nice too. It wasn't the cheap plastic lawn chairs, the balcony furniture was the durable wicker with nice comfy cushions. The view off the balcony was beautiful and the beach access was awesome and not crowded. The location was great too. There are several good restaurants just a few blocks from the condo. And the outlet malls were very close if you have a rainy or cold day that you can't get on the beach. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

awesome location!

we stayed here over Easter last year and my family of 5 loved it. the place was clean and the view was beautiful!! we loved how we were just steps from the beach. Louise was great, made everything very easy. this particular section of destin has a much larger beach area and much less busy. we noticed that other condo buildings elsewhere didn't have the same relaxing and open feel as this one.
the only negatives, one of which may unfortunately keep us from coming back next year, is that they said the pool would be heated the beginning of April and it was not. the pool was freezing and everyone down there was not very happy. at that time of year it still gets chilly and a heated pool is a must. my kids were super disappointed and even they didn't want to go in it. But Louise was right on it and from what i understand, other owners were too who had guests complain. It was eventually turned back on and mid-way through our stay it was warm enough to swim in.
also the dryer in the unit didn't really seem to work that well and took hours to dry anything, but that certainly isn't a reason to not stay there.
All in all an AWESOME vacation and if we are certain the pool with be heated next time we will for sure be back!!

Owner's Response: We're glad that you enjoyed the condo and appreciate you bringing the problems with the pool heating and the dryer to our attention. The problem with the dryer was the venting system, not the machine. We have since brought in a repair company who has thoroughly cleaned the system. We've checked with subsequent guests who have told us the dryer now works fine. We took up the pool heating with the Condo Association and they now heat the pool though the Spring Break period. We’re local owners with Florida “thin blood”; we went to the condo during the last week of March and swam in the pool - it was heated. We do everything possible to ensure our guests have a wonderful vacation experience. One last thing – we were happy to welcome you back again this year for your vacation at the condo 30 March – 6 April 2013. Thank you.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and it was pure bliss! The pictures do not do this condo justice. The beach is gorgeous white sand and clean. The condo itself has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal. Just need groceries. We woke to dolphins swimming 100 yards off the beach 3 mornings of our stay!! Also all shopping and resturaunts within 15 minute drive! Everything you could want for a relaxing beach vacation! We will definitely visit again!

First time staying in Destin and had no idea how the condo would really be. Internet pictures can sometimes be misleading. In this case, pictures didn't do justice! Beautiful place! It really is right on the beach! The owner has beautiful taste and we were thrilled with every detail. The bed was very comfortable, which is important for us. The owner was very accommodating and we lacked for nothing!! I have no reason to ever book a different condo!! This lovely place just made our first Florida vacation perfect!!

We enjoyed a week here for our last vaction before the kids went back to school. There were 6 of us( 4 kids and 2 adults) and there was plenty of room. The location on the beach could not have been any better. Thanks Louise!

Amazing Vacation

This was one of the most relaxing, amazing vacations my husband and I have been on. We rented this condo with my cousins and we were pleasantly surprised. Not only is the condo owners awesome people that take pride in their properties, but the condo was a home away from home. If you have any issues they answer your call's emediately and are over in no time. We had a minor issue with a slow drain and the washer door stuck, both times they were over and fixed the issues at hand. The decor is very homey, no gaudy decorations here, and the furnishing's were awesome. The balcony was amazing, enough comfortable seating for us to star gaze or watch the dolphins jumping and playing.
They supply just about everything you will need except food, laundry detergent, and dish washer tabs, clothes, and toilettries. They give you enough to start your vacation until you can make it to the grociery store. Again we were surprised by this, They are very honest condo owners. What they say will be supplied is REALLY supplied.
All of the beach stuff and cart to haul it all down with was a huge hit. We enjoyed the condo so much we are already rebooked for next year.
If you want a lazy vacation this is the perfect condo, and if you want an adventurous vacation again this is a perfect condo, almost everything is within a half hour drive. Thank you both for an Amazing vacation.

We stayed two glorious weeks in this condo and it was perfect. The view is amazing and the unit is well equipped. The open layout permitted a view of the gulf from everywhere. We had the sliding balcony door open all the time to enjoy the sound of the waves on the beach. The king bed was very comfy and it was wonderful to sleep while listening to those waves. Another couple visited for five nights and there was plenty of room and the open concept allowed us to share good times together. We cooked most dinners at the condo and found everything we needed. We were fortunate to have fantastic weather and spent lots of time on the beautiful beach. We have been to many beaches and Miramar Beach is second to none! Beach chairs and umbrellas were supplied for our use. The owner, Louise, was excellent to deal with as she answered all questions promptly and thoroughly. Being on the fifth floor was not a problem as the elevator was quick and efficient and the height gave us a wonderful view of the beach. If we return to this area in Florida, we would certainly stay at 502D in the Beach House again!

We stayed the entire month of December. I was concerned to commit for a month without seeing the unit; however, the owner's description says it well and the pictures are accurate. I write this the last day of our stay to share we loved it! Wish we could stay another month. We leave with fond memories.
No road between the condo and the gulf is a noteworthy feature. We never heard anything but the sound of the ocean. Unit has a good floor plan with the master bedroom fronting the gulf. The condo was well appointed.
We enjoyed the 2 gas and 2 charcoal grills near the pool. Major grocery store chain and good gulf front restaurants are less than a mile walk.
