This delightful property is an architectural gem located one short block from the historic Sonoma Plaza with its tasting rooms, shops, restaurants and wineries. Leave your car at home and walk to everything!
Walk along the curvy flagstone path to the double French entrance doors. Enter into the Great Room. Note the naturally-distressed 'Tobacco Barn Beech' wood flooring. To your left is the sitting area with gas fireplace, leather sofa, and large comfortable armchairs. To your right is an 8 foot long French farm table which seats eight.
Love to cook? Spacious and open to the living area, the fully-appointed kitchen is enhanced by granite countertops, Travertine backsplash, and Murano glass pendant lights. You'll enjoy the Wolf range, as well as other high-end appliances. The kitchen was designed for the gourmet chef with entertaining friends in mind.
Down the hall is a second living area -- a cozy Library with a comfortable sofa sleeper, stone (gas) fireplace, HDTV with surround sound, and a book collection including both classics and recent bestsellers.
The sleeping areas are comfortable and private. The master bedroom suite, with king bed and ensuite bathroom, is located on the main level. The second bedroom suite, with queen bed and adjacent bathroom, is located on the second level.
Sit on the front porch in one of the four white wicker rockers and read a book or sip a glass of wine. Gather with friends under the vine-covered pergola. Depending upon the season, the garden features lavender, wisteria, fragrant yellow roses, California poppies, and purple clematis. It is accented by a softly burbling fountain.
HGTV included Chez Winnie in it's '2009 Dream Home Sonoma' program as one of the delightful homes of this beautiful town.

We're both professionals who live about an hour away from Sonoma. We have many interests, which you will see when you visit Chez Winnie. These include reading, photography, travel, art, cooking, gardening, cycling, and, of course, wine!
We chose this location because we love being in the wine country and we love staying so close to the Sonoma Plaza. When we are at Chez Winnie, we walk to some of the best wine tasting in the Valley, then go to our favorite restaurant on the Plaza, watch a film at the Sebastiani Theater, and stop for ice cream on the walk home. It couldn't be better.
There are many beautiful vacation homes in Sonoma, but few capture the unique charm of life in the wine country like Chez Winnie -- and there are very few within walking distance of the Plaza. As a recent guest said, 'When you step inside, you will realize that this is much more than a place to stay; it's like living the Sonoma experience to the fullest.'
