Spacious, clean suite that accommodates up to four people comfortably with private bathroom and separate bedroom. About Gabriela / Joerg Butz

We, Joerg and Gabriela, were both born in Essen, Germany. After immigrating to Canada in 1982 we found our home in Coquitlam, a beautiful town with breathtaking views of mountains, spectacular biking and hiking trails, great restaurants and shopping. The choices of things to do are endless. Our home is just 30 km from Vancouver, a city that has consistently been chosen as one of the top cities in the world to live in and for very good reasons.

We enjoy and love sharing our home, creeks, pond, and the natural backyard setting of the place we live in with people from all over the world. Since we have traveled to many places in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America, we know how important it is to have a comfortable, clean and quiet place to come home to in the evening. We go the extra mile to ensure that our guests have the most comfortable stay possible.

Joerg retired recently from his IT career, and Gabriela runs the B&B since 1986. We both enjoy volunteering in our church and in the community. Our hobbies include hiking, fishing, skiing, gardening, reading and most of all traveling. Our two university-aged children are still living at home while they are finishing their schooling, and also enjoy the interaction with our guests.

We found this home when it was just being built in 1993, and loved the location at the end of a cult-de-sac bordering a forested area with mature cedar trees and 2 small creeks running through the property.

What makes this house unique

This is a very quiet neighbourhood with no traffic noise, great view, trees around the house, opportunities to walk yet close to all amenities. Sit on the patio and listen to the gentle flow of the creek.

I would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the lower mainland looking for a clean, comfortable and friendly place to stay. As I was in Port Moody for work, it was so nice to return to a relaxed and home-like environment after a long and busy day.
I was here during the winter months, but found the outside environment as relaxing as the inside. The sound of the creek flowing in the back yard as opposed to the noise of traffic was very peaceful.
The property was exactly as shown in the pictures and owner Garbriele was very accommodating in making sure all my needs were met.
I would certainly be happy to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at this B&B very much, we had everything we needed very clean and comfortable, great views of surrounding area,we hired a car at the airport which is essential to visit nearby places etc, and the owners were very welcoming and a great help, hope to go back in the near future and reccommend the Green Gables.

My husband and I stayed at Green Gables during a visit to Vancouver for both business & pleasure. It was a lovely place surrounded by beautiful trees and other greenery. It was very clean and spacious and very private and quiet. Loved the soft comforters on the king-sized bed. The breakfasts every morning were not only delicious but served with a wonderful smile by Gabriela. It's central location made it very convenient for us visiting family and also for sightseeing. We would surely recommend this B & B.

My husband and I stayed at the Green Gables for a week while we were visiting our daughter and her family. The suite was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The yard is beautiful - all the trees, ferns and the stream make it feel like you are away from everything and yet it is so close to everything. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. We are looking forward to staying here again and recommend it to anyone who is in the Vancouver area.

Large self-contained suite, with comfy bed & private bathroom, all kept immaculately clean. This is a great base to call home while exploring the city of Vancouver or surrounding area. Delicious breakfast included too, with a lovely view of the garden pond, and surrounded by forest - what a holiday treat!
