Photos and Description of the Panama City vacation condo rental
Condo, 1 Bedroom + Attached Unit, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-5)

This is a very unique loft style property featuring 15 foot high ceilings, skylights, a large mezzanine bedroom with beautiful wooden floors & oversize custom made wardrobe with its bright en-suite bathroom, the bedroom overlooks the living-room.

The nice modern American kitchen offers a breakfast bar and opens onto the living/dining room that leads to a lovely balcony with views to a wide quiet street with colorful 'bougainvillea'.

It is a gorgeous apartment which benefits from all the colonial charm: iron work & Calicanto walls (original stone wall from the 17th Century) all around the condo with a great homey feeling.

The condo is fitted with high end amenities, a phone with free local calls and also the use of a cell phone during your stay.

LOCATION:

It is next to the famous “La Merced” Church which façade was transported stone by stone after the 1st city (Panama La Vieja) was destroyed…the building was actually the living quarters of the monks;-)

The condo is steps away from restaurants, bars & cafés, the famous Plaza Cathedral with the Museum of the canal & the up-coming Plaza Herrera which will soon host 2 boutique Hotels.

NEIGHBORHOOD:

Casco Viejo (also known as Casco Antiguo) is an effervescent neighborhood with its beautiful restored colonial buildings, home to the President Palace, the French Embassy & a gorgeous promenade with awesome views to the city's skyline & the Amador Causeway (entrance of the Panama Canal).

It also offers fine dining & entertainment with the National Theatre, great outdoor cafés for a nice drink on one of the charming plazas...an enjoyment by itself!

Its perfect location between down-town & Amador, a 5 to 10 Min’s taxi ride, makes it a conveniently central “pied-a-terre”!

*************************************

For your convenience we also offer airport transfers & tours and can welcome you in 5 languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian and German.

Come and enjoy Panama by staying in this little gem:-)

Please note that it is not recommended for people with knee injuries as there is no elevator.

Looking forward welcoming you, Patty & Rudy

P.S. we also have a studio in the same building & a 1 bedroom condo in Amador by the Causeway (entrance of the Panama Canal).

P.S.2 Pictures were taken by Rudy...no staging...and he is no professional photographer so this is what you get...no tricks!!!

Rudy is half Italian and half Panamanian, born in Panama but raised in Rome, went to Notre Dame International School and accomplished a degree in Art History at the John Cabot International University as well as a degree in MCE and a certification as a Panamanian tour guide given by the National Tourist Authority. Both very much enjoy meeting people from all over the world…hence the choice of making hosting and touring their business...you couldn’t be in better hands:-) Let us show you our Panama by given you tips on our favorite restaurants or the places not to be missed…our priority is to make your Panama adventure an unforgettable one;-)

Besides this porperty we also own a studio in the same building, a 1 bedroom condo in Amador and a brand new mountain villa 50 Minutes from the city...a paradise for those of you who are seaking relaxation and recharging batteries!

Patty purchased this condo in 2010
Why Patty chose Panama City

We bought this property for us however since we have so much successs renting our studio located in the same building we decided to purspone until retirement time and in the mean time welcome guests to enjoy it;-)

We love the colonial neighborhood of Casco Viejo (UNESCO World Heritage) – it’s vibrant and has some of the best restaurants in town...not to mention that it is fascinating to wonder about in its little colonial streets admiring the buildings amazing architectures.

It’s the up-coming neighborhood of the city, it is centrally located between the banking district (2 min’s drive) and the Amador Causeway (5 min’s drive) and now is also walking distance to the new coastal belt where you can jog or just take a walk.

Lots of entertainments like the national Theatre and all the different venues: the Jazz and Music festival. You’ll find a variety of little shops with beautiful Panamanian handcrafts and every Sunday the flea market.

Casco Viejo is a great walking neighborhood home to the Presidential Palace, the Mayor’s Office (in our street) and the French Embassy.

It’s a perfect Holiday spot…and we have taken great care of making the loft as cozy as possible with high end amenities.

What makes this condo unique

Great balcony with a view (not onto the neighboors!) and the very high ceilings with the original 'calicanto' walls!

This apartment is a wonderful fully equipped modern loft. It has either one or two bedrooms , 2 bathrooms and a kitchen living room and dining area. One bedroom is up a spiral staircase to a loft which over looks the living area. king bed lots of closet space etc. Patty and Rudy are wonderful people who have the apartent set up with everything you would need. The Apartemnt is on the top floor of a great 3 story building. there is a patio to sit outside and enjoy the eveing breezes and its close to many of the recommended restaurants in the Old City. Rudy does Panama Tours if your interested and they live close by if you need them. They supply you with a cell phone you can add minutes to if you like and there is a phone in the apartment for your use for local calls or with calling cards although there was a problem with the phone during our stay. If you are interested in Panama this is the apartment you want. It has everything including air conditioning. It can be rented as a one bedroon loft or a 2 bedroom loft.

Our private getaway

This property exceeded our expectations. Excellent location, quiet (even though Casco Viejo is in the process of being rebuilt), quaint, secure - I don't know what we else we could have asked for. Patty and Rudy were most helpful. Photos are all good, location was great (directly across the street from the Mayor's residence)_. We walked EVERYWHERE - went out each morning and evening and spent the afternoons sequestered in the loft away from the heat. By the time our stay was over, we were talking about buying the place!!

All our expectations were more than satisfactory. We arranged airport transfers with Patty and Rudy and someone was there to pick us up when we arrived to transport us to the loft. When we arrived Patty and Rudy were there to meet us and help with the luggage and show us around the loft. The loft was beautiful and had everything one would need and location was perfect.(also many fine resturants)
We also went on a tour with Rudy to the Embera Village which was one of the best tours we have ever been on. I would recommend the loft and tour to anyone (well worth it) also our airport transfer was there on time for our departure.

Our time in Casco Viejo was an unforgettable experience. The loft apartment was absolutely the nicest we have ever rented and Patty and Rudy were fabulous hosts. This area is one of the most dynamic we have seen in any of our travels, combining all strata of life in a very safe and pleasant environment. There are modern restaurants and businesses mixed with the historic buildings and renovation literally everywhere. Rudy also provided interesting insights as we toured the entire Panama City area and met us in Colon after our Canal Train ride to show us the Atlantic sights. We definitely selected the right apartment in the right location!

Based on the description of the property and website photos (+pre-trip e-mail correspondence with the owners) we were expecting a nice stay at Patty and Rudy's condo in Panama City's Casco Viejo. However, the condo and trip EXCEEDED our already high expectations! Location, cleanliness, amenities, balcony, etc., etc.... ALL are phenomenal. The beautiful Cinta Costera is within easy walking distance. Friendly owners. Quiet, well-maintained property. We felt as if we were in our own home. What more could one ask for? We would recommend this property to anyone visiting Panama City, especially couples.

We spent 5 nights at the loft..The reviews I read were great but staying there even better.
Patty seems to have thought of everything. So many little thoughtful touches that make staying there a terrific experience. It's really an oasis in Casco a place to escape the heat and the streets when it's time to relax..
We also went on a tour with Rudy. Real terrific. He's knowledgeable, pleasent and little Patty a perfect host if you're visiting Panama

Spoiled for Future Travel

My husband and I have traveled to many locations throughout the world, stayed in five-star resorts, and taken a lot of tours. While the sites may be interesting and different, the resorts begin to all look alike and tour guides become another "talking head" with a hum-drum script and very little knowledge beyond the script. We were ready for something new!

When my husband announced to me that we were booking a condo in Panama -- a condo that also included being picked up at the airport, tours of our choice, guides to the best restaurants and shopping -- I have to admit that my "I'm so skeptical" flag went sky-high! It began to lower when we were actually picked up at the right airport, at the right time, in the right place. It lowered a little more when we walked into the condo. I can parrot what everyone else has said about this condo -- yes, it is absolutely gorgeous; yes, it is so uniquely located; yes, there is a computer, a cell phone, a flat-screen TV; yes, there is everything you could desire in "creature comforts." But, seriously, any good proprietor can see to these things.

What appealed to us, and probably has spoiled us for future travels, is the incredible person-to-person attention we received from Patty and Rudy. Here are two people who know the country of Panama so well -- its people, its culture, its history, its politics. We asked so many questions, got solid informative answers, and, thus, learned so much about this interesting country! These are people who make you feel so cared for in their home, in their city, in their country, that you hope that someday they will come to your home, your city, your country so you can somehow repay the hospitality they have shown you.

From the moment we landed in Panama until the moment we left, we were truly their special guests, priviledged to experiences and local knowledge the ordinary tourist in Panama will never know in any other way. Patty and Rudy have found their calling in the Universe and we are blessed to have found them.

Thank you, Patty and Rudy!

We stayed in this beautfiul apartment in Nov and would highly recommend it. The apartment is finished to excellent standards, the bed is comfy and there are many fine restaurants within strolling distance. Patty and Rudi are wonderful hosts and very informative for our first visit to the city. To be picked up at the airport when you are tired is a great comfort. Thank you both for such a wonderful time and we are determined to visit again one day.

My trip to Panama consisted of 4 days in Casco Viejo, 4 days sailing in the San Blas Islands and 2 days in Bella Vista. This loft was phase I and really got the trip off to a great start. This loft, with it's two floors, huge balcony overlooking the Mayors Mansion, and nestled in the heart of the Casco, is absolutely amazing. Everything is top notch. You won't find a five star hotel for five times the price with this kind of atmosphere. Patty & Rudy are the most wonderful people that you could ever want to deal with. They're attentive, understanding, on time and put together these marvelous books filled with tips and suggestions of how to make the most of your stay. Plus this loft has a computer, a mobile phone to use, and so much more. This is the place to stay. As my ex-governor once said, "I'll be back".

Perfect !

I very strongly recommend the Loft from Patty's Casitas!

First for its location: right in the heart of Casco Viejo, ideal for walking around and seeing the old city, where beautiful buildings date back to the 17th century and are extremely beautifully renovated. It is a lively area, full of charm with many restaurants, bars and authentic people. Taxis never got lost when I asked them to drive me to the well known “Iglesia de la Merced” adjacent to the loft.

Second for the building itself, an ancient monastery with high and thick walls (hence the quietness of the flat) situated in a nice, clean and lighted street. Main entrance of the building is secured.

And third for the accommodation itself, just perfect!
Very well appointed with modern and very high quality furnishings. Everything you could need is provided. The kitchen is fully fit out, even with basic supplies such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, etc. The bathroom has also all the essentials one needs, like towels, hair dryer and start kit with shampoo and soap. Laundry is also available in the building. I appreciate also very much the free use of computer with wi fi and the local mobile phone I’ve been provided with. Books, DVD's or international programmes to watch on a huge flat screen, precise and accurate information on Panama and its surroundings, everything you could think of was available. Amazing! The whole loft was perfectly clean and smelling good!
On top of that, Patty is a wonderful host, very helpful and dedicated to her commitments. She likes what she is doing, and does it perfectly. It is not a business woman thinking rentability. She always made sure I had a good stay and was also extremely interesting to speak too with her many travel experiences around the world. Her husband Rudy, with whom I had a tour in the “Otro Panama” and the “Miraflores locks” is also a very nice person, flexible and patient and able to answer all the question about Panama in the past and nowadays.

I would definitely recommend staying by Patty and Rudy, it really feels like home.
