Spoiled for Future Travel
My husband and I have traveled to many locations throughout the world, stayed in five-star resorts, and taken a lot of tours. While the sites may be interesting and different, the resorts begin to all look alike and tour guides become another "talking head" with a hum-drum script and very little knowledge beyond the script. We were ready for something new!
When my husband announced to me that we were booking a condo in Panama -- a condo that also included being picked up at the airport, tours of our choice, guides to the best restaurants and shopping -- I have to admit that my "I'm so skeptical" flag went sky-high! It began to lower when we were actually picked up at the right airport, at the right time, in the right place. It lowered a little more when we walked into the condo. I can parrot what everyone else has said about this condo -- yes, it is absolutely gorgeous; yes, it is so uniquely located; yes, there is a computer, a cell phone, a flat-screen TV; yes, there is everything you could desire in "creature comforts." But, seriously, any good proprietor can see to these things.
What appealed to us, and probably has spoiled us for future travels, is the incredible person-to-person attention we received from Patty and Rudy. Here are two people who know the country of Panama so well -- its people, its culture, its history, its politics. We asked so many questions, got solid informative answers, and, thus, learned so much about this interesting country! These are people who make you feel so cared for in their home, in their city, in their country, that you hope that someday they will come to your home, your city, your country so you can somehow repay the hospitality they have shown you.
From the moment we landed in Panama until the moment we left, we were truly their special guests, priviledged to experiences and local knowledge the ordinary tourist in Panama will never know in any other way. Patty and Rudy have found their calling in the Universe and we are blessed to have found them.
Thank you, Patty and Rudy!
