I spent a week at Barry's condo with my sister and her friend for my sister's 40th birthday. Everything the reviews say is true! Planning the trip was a cinch- Barry replied to every email within 24 hours, answering every question and giving helpful tips. He picked us up from the airport and offered to stop at a grocery store on the way to the condo. The location of Playa Turquesa is perfect. We never wished we had a car, although a ride on a moto-concho is well worth it! Nestled between the resort areas gives the condo privacy and serenity, yet it is close enough for walking to the action. Each day two of us ran up the beach about 3 miles- barefoot! The sand is perfect and the water is a gorgeous turquoise. We loved the short walks to many different restaurants each evening. The fresh fruit truck that stops outside the condo gate every night was one of our favorite features! The beach at the condo is spacious and beautiful, and the pools and grounds are well manicured and maintained. The staff and security was friendly and always around. We met other families who own a condo in the complex and they were extremely friendly and enjoyable to talk with when we saw them at the beach or pool each day. The condo itself has plenty of space. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. The balcony was our favorite place to hang out when at the condo. It has a fantastic view and nice breeze. Barry was a great host- responding to calls and email during the trip, and even brought us fresh water because the store was closed! I highly recommend Barry's condo in the Dominican to anyone!

My wife and I spent 10 days at this condo and loved it! We can not say enough about how great our stay was here. Barry picked us up at the airport and was patient with us eventhough we had been delayed getting in and our luggage didn't make it. He drove us right to the condo, shoed us where everything was ,handed us the key and he was on his way. The condo is hooked up with local phone access and WiFi which really came in handy for us. We had more than enough room inside and out. Plenty of closet space and his and her bathrooms. It worked out great for us. The condo is set up really well for two couples to share, or bring your family. Much better than a hotel and a much better value. We did spend most of the time out on the patio. The view was amazing. We were a short walk to many really good restaurants. We liked Nam Nam and Belikana the best. The beach was gorgeous. Great people watching right from your chair. A lot of activities to do within a mile either way down the beach. Boating, parasailing, eating, drinking, you name it they had it. This is a great place if you want to get away from the all inclusive set. We had a lot of fun getting to know the area, figuring out the money, and just generally seeing the town instead of just hanging out at a resort all week. The security at Playa Turquesa was excellent as well. We always saw the guards around during the day and night. We never felt unsafe walking home at night either. I would definitely recommend this condo for anyone looking for a great Punta Cana get away.

Our family of 5 had a great time in this spacious, clean and convenient condo. The location is ideal; we felt no need to rent a car as excellent restaurants and the "Super Mercado" were easy walking distance from the condo. When we ventured further from the condo, we took the public bus--30 pesos each--and it worked well. The condo is clean, well-stocked, with beautiful view of the beachfront. The actual beach is lovely, plenty of chairs and our kids had a wonderful time in the two large pools (plus two kiddie pools) on the condo grounds. The grounds are lovely, well-manicured, and we felt secure in our place. Barry was helpful, just a phone-call away, and even accompanied us to the bus station across town as our return flight left from Santo Domingo. Thank you, Barry, for a great experience!

Just got back from an 8 day stay and it was wonderful. There were 8 of us, including 2 toddlers and everything was exactly as represented. Barry was great! He met us at the airport to ensure we got to the condo ok (with so many of us he even gave some of us a ride; which was great with the kids). The beach was wonderful! The sand was so fine; it didn't even get hot to walk on!!! The kids (of all ages) loved digging in the sand and building sand castles. Plenty of great restaurants within walking distance (D'Angelo's, Captain Hook, and an Asian place just past D'Angelo's to name a few). The pools were soooo refreshing! Everything was so clean, the grounds very well kept. Plenty of security. It was nice not being in a busy resort setting. Barry was great, available for whatever we needed, including a trip to the ER (my daughter ended up with a severe ear infection). Thank you again for that Barry! Small grocery/convenience store and pharmacy right outside the property (along with an awesome bakery)...we loaded up at a bigger grocery store on the way to the property from the airport and that worked very well (and only cost us a little extra tip for the taxi driver). I would highly recommend this place if you're headed to Punta Cana..Bavaro Beach was awesome! Thanks for a very relaxing vacation and your hospitality Barry!! :) Sue

This was a great first time renting a condo. I've always used the all-inclusives. Turned out to be a great decision. The condo (needs some colour Barry) was spacious, clean and ideally located close to the beach. Barry provided us with a coffee maker too so we brought our own Timmy's coffee and had it on the large veranda listening to the waves and happy chatter on the beach in the morning. There is a water dispenser plus all that's listed. We met a great group of repeat renters and were never bored. Great restaurants within walking distance------- Huracan on the beach------- Venezia-------D'angelo's -pizza (try the gnocchi) ------Balicana for great Asian and you'll have leftovers too. Danny's just outside the gates, had karaoke on Wed. and had a great turnout! We went and did a big grocery shopping in the San Juan Plaza near the airport the first day, then added to it from Ciccollella near the condo during the week. Don't miss out the "frutero" who comes every evening outside the gates who sells the best fruit esp. avocados and papayas & bananas. Just wash the peels before cutting ( a precaution) I gorged myself.
Barry was a very reliable and personable guy who was a phone call away for anything. He even drove us to the airport.
We went on one excursion with Lise who lives in the complex. the Catalina scuba and snorkeling. We stopped on a private island and had lunch buffet/booze and dancing. Great time was had by all.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Barry's Condo at Playa Turquesa! We were 3 families traveling with toddler children and a 5 year-old and the space and proximity to the beach could not have been more perfect. Everything was just as listed on the site - very spacious, nicely appointed with all the amenities you will need during your stay. The beach is one of the best in Bavaro/Punta Cana. The ladies did a spa day at a very nice resort further south, walked the beach all the way back and were so happy to be back on Playa Turquesa's beach. We also felt very safe and enjoyed eating at the local eateries in the neighborhood. Our favorites were Balicana, NamNam, Chikeeta Bonita and the bakery across the street. We did venture further and really enjoyed Captain Cook and delivery from Solo Pollo. The market is right across from the property too and has all the basics.

Barry is genuine and a great owner to work with. He met us at the airport to ensure a smooth transition to the condo, gave us a tour of the neighborhood, and he was helpful during our departure which we greatly appreciated. He was very responsive before and during the trip to any questions or concerns that we had.

Room for improvement:
-The condo was pretty clean but could have been a little cleaner in my opinion, i.e. I saw a few long hairs in the bathroom and shower when we arrived, but my husband says I am a "clean freak".
-Add some color or artwork to just a couple walls to add a little warmth
-List of local/frequently used restaurant phone numbers
-Coffee maker (we used the espresso maker but it took a while for 6 adults)
-The safe is very temperamental but it was great to have.

Overall, we had an amazing trip and are looking forward to our next vacation at Playa Turquesa.

We spent 10 days in the condo. We were two couples and 4 children at a young age.

We were greeted at the airport by Barry. He made us feel welcome in Punta Cana. He kindly helped with taxis and luggage. He led us to the condo, with a lot of useful information about the area, restaurants, grocery stores ...

Upon our arrival, the condo was very clean and in excellent condition. Everything was exactly as described on the VRBO site; a large living room, three large master bedrooms with comfortable beds, a fourth smaller bedroom, 4 bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a superb terrace with ocean views and vegetation. Plenty of space for a group of 8 people!

Playa Turquesa is a well located complex, meticulously maintained. In less than 5 minutes walk, there is a grocery store, European-style bakery, several restaurants,a nice ice cream counter, a fruit market (not to mention the trucks of fruit and vegetables every day at 6PM)?? and an honest exchange office.

During our stay Barry was quick and effective in solving a minor glitch that we had.

At the end of our stay, he helped us getting ready for the airport. We appreciated his help.

We enjoyed our vacation, we highly recommend this condo and would want to stay there again for a future trip.

Our 10-day stay at Playa Turquesa was a wonderful time. This beachfront residential complex has the best-kept beach grounds in all Bavaro. The staff at Playa Turquesa is extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The apartment provides immediate access to the beach and to the main pool. Barry, the owner, was very attentive and made sure that everything was in place to make our stay at Playa Turquesa a very memorable vacation.
