The cabin was just as described. The first time I opened the door I felt like I was at home. Everything we needed was in the cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable to be in. We had one question when we arrived and Lisa and Rod were very helpful in answering it. The BBQ's in the area were excellent. The pulled pork is the most popular, but our favorite were the smoked ribs. The butcher shop in Hayesville is another must stop for some fresh meat. People in the area are very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. I would stay here again, and also recommend this cabin to friends.

A beautiful mountain retreat

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. We got to see the fall foliage right there all around us. The cabin was beautifully decorated and contained everything you needed. If we had forgotten anything, we wouldn't have needed to worry because it had everything possible to the last detail. Dixie, our Great Dane, enjoyed the fenced yard and even got to see four deer in the woods. We would definitely consider staying there again and would recommend it to our friends. Thank you Rod and Lisa for providing us with a home away from home.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Lorlie's Liar....It was very comfortable and we felt right at home!!! we would definetley stayh again and/or recemmend to our friends! It was also a great place to bring our dogs....very pet friendly!!!

Great Cabin!

The cabin was great! It was decorated so nice, in a great location, and beautiful lot. We enjoyed smores in the fireplace and the hot tub was very relaxing. This cabin came equipped with everything you will need. We hope to come back again!

This trip was planned with my mother to visit her beloved Georgia mountains and nearby friends. From the very beginning of the process we were impressed with the owners and this property.
It was important that mother feel comfortable navigating the house with her cane, and it turned out that was a breeze for her! She felt right at home and was able to enjoy the entire downstairs and both porches with ease.
The owners, Lisa and Rod, left a bottle of wine for mother, along with a note to enjoy the roses in their flower garden. We felt like old friends!
Bottom Line: I highly recommend this property!

A great place to forget about the everyday stress.

My wife and I had stayed in the area last year and we came back to this part of North Carolina again. There is something about the area that makes you feel welcome. The house that Lisa and Rod have just makes you feel like you were coming home. The open front porch, with the hammock, the openness of the main room when you walk in and the master bedroom is just perfect. The welcome wine is a nice touch and was just right after driving all that way from New York. The nights are quiet with stars as far as you can see. I recommend going into the hot tub at night and look up to see them. Although we did not see any deer we saw plenty of birds in the bird feeder. I would advise you to stop into the local Ingles to get some food to cook on the grill (Rod I am jealous of that grill!!). There are also plenty of local farms to get fresh picked vegetables. For desert I highly advise you to go to the RIB Country restaurant for the fried apple pie! It is that good. For those of you that like to see scenery. I would make a trip to all the local national parks in the area. After the second day we started to called the place home. My wife and I would stay here again.

WOW!! There are no words to express how much we loved Lorelai's Lair!! My sister and I, along with our offspring (one each - girl age 8 and a boy age 5) along with our mom and our two furry friends Lexus and Coco, were the guests and Lisa (and Ron) played the absentee host and hostess with the mostest. We were overwhelmed by all the small yet caring touches that were present and gave us that true home away from home feeling. The location and the view itself was stunning and was an automatic thumbs up. The property was clean and well-stocked with even the smallest details. They even had treats for the four-legged friends, Had we known of all the amenities provided, we could have had a much lighter load. The decor was nicely appointed and comfortable but luxurious all the same. Egyptian cotton-Sateen sheets and down pillows kept you cozy at night and the smell of Gevalia flavored coffee brewing aroused you awake! I was a little concerned that the children would be bored so we bought things to keep them busy, but Lisa and Ron were a step ahead of us. They provided a Wii with several remotes and even the guns for Ghostbusters (which to my chagrin, my son made us all play - OVER AND OVER). There were even crayons and coloring books provided. The kids loved the hammock and the rocking chairs and thought the hot tub was "the best swimming pool ever".
As far as customer service, I fell in love with Lisa and Ron even before we made it to Lorelai's Lair as we were a last minute booking and they worked with us and were receptive to our many questions. Even when we demonstrated that we couldn't follow simple instructions as to getting the key, Lisa was patient with us and laughed through it with us.
The negatives about this place... Just one. They make it too darn comfortable for you to want to go do anything!! It also didnt help that it was 90+ degrees everyday we were there which also didnt help motivate us to do more. All in all, we had the most relaxing time of all. Spent some good quality time together as a family during our five night stay! We spent 2 hours discussing our return trip! See you guys in the fall!!! THANKS LISA AND RON!!!
