Beautiful condo in the perfect location
We stayed during the off-season at the end of April. For the price, this condo is absolutely amazing. It is in a perfect location, with the balcony overlooking the rapids of the Swan River (loved the sound!). It was fun to watch kayakers whizzing by below.
The interior of the condo is gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. We loved playing crib in front of the fireplace in the evenings while listening to the rapids outside. The unit is clean and well equipped. The shower, with the river rock stone on the floor, was luxurious!
Across the street is the backside of Electric Avenue, so it is VERY close to the businesses of Bigfork. This block is filled with wonderful restaurants, cafes, galleries, and other interesting stores. Our favourite was Pocketstone Cafe for excellent breakfasts, lunches and desserts. At the far end of the block from the condo is a hill leading up to a wonderful two-mile walking trail through the woods--cliffs leading up into the forest on one side, and down to the raging rapids on the other. Our doggie LOVED this trail, and it seems to be a favourite with local dog owners, walkers, runner and fishermen. Again, a great feature of the town within walking distance of the condo. The marina, which enters into Flathead Lake, is similarly within a block or so.
Much of Bigfork closes down pretty early during the off-season (in fact, many businesses weren't open at all). That said, Kalispell is an easy 20-minute drive.
All in all, a wonderful place to stay. We will be back, I'm sure, as there is plenty more to explore!
