Perfect place for a KT Mountain Bike weekend
You know you've found a great place when everyone in our group of 8 guys were already asking if we could get the house for next year on the second of a three day weekend of mountain biking the KT trails.
The house is perfectly situated for mountain biking... it's a mere few pedals to the new Roly Grail trail that runs right by the house and then a fun zip down to the chairlift... That's if you don't want to do the quick 5 minute climb to the top of Jester and Knightslayer. Or perhaps a hearty warm up climb to the top of Dead Moose Alley and from there do a 30 mile epic over to Darling Hill and back? (we did...) If you brought your full face helmet and long travel bike... a quick shuttle to the top for Upper J Bar?
And once you come back from a long day on the trails you can take a minute and clean off your bike on the super handy bike wash/repair stand, head in and grab a shower in one of the two very nice full baths (there's even a third 1/2 bath in the basement), toss your dirty, sweaty riding clothes in the washer, grab a beer and head out to the deck to watch an amazing sunset while you fix up a meal in the brand new, totally decked out gourmet kitchen. Foosball table and ping pong await in the basement, or if there's a chill in the air, the gorgeous, huge fieldstone fireplace kicks off a nice warm glow. We did that while we watched the Bruins on the big screen TV. Even their loss didn't put a damper on the weekend.
The bedrooms are well laid out for a big group. Definitely in the ski lodge style of bunk rooms (two of those) but everyone was comfortable. Our group of 8 slept just fine... 10 can easily fit in the house with nobody having to share a bed.
Brett is easy to work with and you can tell this isn't merely an income property... they are sharing their home away from home with you.
We are definitely booking for the same time next year and there's even talk of coming back up in the fall to ride and relax at KT.
Hopefully you'll enjoy the house as much as we did.
