Best home away from home
This place will always have a place in my memory. Going there as a present from my girlfriend for my birthday was more than anything I ever wanted. I love Colorado, and knowing there are places like this tucked quietly away in the state make it that much better. After driving down from Boulder, we were treated to a beautiful and scenic drive straight to the cabin. The road after the main gate to the actual cabin is the same as a ride at Great America, you need AWD badly, but it was great.
Once you reach the cabin, you are treated to phenomenal scenery, a well accommodated cabin, and a fun pond to try your luck at fishing. We couldn't help but name all the frequent animals that visited us from morning to night. Chipmunks, trout, carp, hummingbirds, and a beaver were our common guests. All of them added to the authentic feel that you were in nature. You can easily hike the grounds and get a good workout depending where you lead yourself. The cabin itself has all the amenities you can want, and all of them clean and in great condition.
The owners greeted us on our first day, and left us to our privacy which was the best part. It was just me and the girlfriend, and all of it combined into one of the best trips I have ever had.
McGintey's is a wood oven restaurant in Divide, ten minutes from the cabin. Go there for a nice beer and a great meal. A wolf preserve, countless trails and attractions, kind and polite people, all made venturing from the cabin just as great as staying inside it.
I am definitely going to make return trips, and tell anyone who needs some relaxation, stress relief, romance, nature, or peace of mind to truly go to this absolutely breathtaking cabin. Best present I have ever been given.
