Nice for the price in Wailea
The interior of the condo was updated, clean, well stocked with boogie boards, beach chairs, a new gas grill (which was very nice since we do like to grill), towels, dishes, etc. Only the bedroom has A.C. Normally we wouldn't care if there was A.C. because we would let the breezes blow through, but the weather on this particular trip was very different than usual, there were no trade winds blowing, it was very warm and muggy so it was pretty warm inside (not that we are really inside much).
The only negative things we can say is that there is no view from the lanai; however, it is surrounded by beautiful flowers and foliage and very private! But we would have preferred to be able to either look out across the lawn or of course an ocean view is nice but you won't get an ocean view for this price in Wailea! It's also right next to the road so if you don't run the A.C. In the bedroom, you'll hear cars; however, it gets pretty quiet later on at night. It is a long walk down to the beach, which we don't mind walking unless we are carrying lawn chairs, a cooler, beach bag etc. so we didn't even go to this beach, we threw our stuff in the car and drove down to a very quiet Public beach Park just south of the Fairmont where you can park really close and are just a few steps away with very few people!
Owner's Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to review your stay. You were here during a very atypical week, not just in Hawaii but everywhere. Georgia had freak snowstorms, the northeast had blizzards and our trade winds stopped all of a sudden, making it more humid. Of course, everything is relative. I lived in FL for a while, and it was never near that. But we're quite spoiled here with the trade winds and sunny weather all year round. This week it's been unseasonably chilly and I found myself awake at 3 AM worrying if the present guests had enough warm blankets.
I'm sorry you never tried Keawakapu ( right in front of the pool area) It's a spectacular beach and the parking happens to be right next to the entrance to our beach Pavilion.
In all honesty, between 4:30 and 6:30 PM everyone seems to be returning home and if you're in the bedroom you can really hear it. But it being Wailea, things quiet down rather fast.
I think it's important that every person find their match when they visit Hawaii. It saddened me also, when the unit became available for purchase that it had no ocean view. Granted, the price would be much, much more expensive. I made peace with it because one of the pools is just steps away and it has an ocean view. I've tried very hard to give my guests something to make up for it. It's a home. With everything a home needs. From good reads to kitchen utensils and beach toys. It's in fact our second home and I've poured a lot of pride, love into it and shared it at a very reasonable price.
I'd like to thank you for taking great care of the condo and for your feedback. It's much appreciated.
