Great Winter Week-end Getaway

Just came back from a fun pack week-end at the Cold Hollow Cabin. We were a group of 6 from Montreal and the White Tail Lodge was more than big enough to accommodate us all. The lodge is also very well equipped and very clean. Robin and Greg and thier mom, were a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely be back next winter.

Great time at White Tail Lodge!

The White Tail Lodge was the perfect cabin for my family's ski trip to Jay Peak! The open floor plan provided us with plenty of room and the kids really enjoyed the loft upstairs. The cabin was very, very clean and had everything we needed. Recently remodeled, updated appliances and comfortable beds made for a relaxing vacation in a very rural setting. This is the kind of place that makes you want to talk, tell stories, play board games and reconnect as a family :-)

Robin and Donna were very helpful with recommendations and other information, including directions to the mountain, supermarkets and restaurants (the Belfry is just what you need after a day of skiing!). No cell service, but it is vacation after all. However, wi-fi worked great for those who needed it... We had lots of snow while we were there and we had to use our 4WD.

This was a great vacation in a fantastic cabin and everyone had a very good time. We would definitely return and I can certainly give this a thumbs-up for a recommendation.

Christmas at White Tail Cabin

White Tail cabin was everything we hoped for and more, description was very accurate. Beautiful well maintained cabin, very clean, comfortable and yet cozy, surroundings were breathtaking. Owners were very helpful from our first telephone conversation until the day we left. Robin was great at coaching us from cars to rent to lists of entertainment sport activities, maps, road not to take etc. Greg was our facility rescue angel, teaching us to light fireplaces, etc. ( we are a family from Puerto Rico, not well versed in winter!!). would most definitely recommend the property to family and friends (brought some business cards with us). Robin's recommendation of the Belfry Rest, amazing place, food was wonderful!!

Thank you so very much to both of you and sharing your home with us.

A Most Wonderful Time

This beautiful cottage, nesled within the Vermont forest was an absolute wonder to arrive to after a day of skiing Jay Peak.

Following a long day winter day, coming home to the cottage only to discover that the fireplace had been kept warm all day was a treat. This beautiful pine cottage, has a rustic charm and classic woodworking that creates an inviting atmosphere of comfort and warmth. Our host was always close to answer questions and provide valuable insight towards the surroundings.

The well kept country roads are an easy drive but for there is an option to stay on paved sreets if the weather gets bad.

This rental is great, the owners are kind and helpful, and I would gladly recommend the experience to anybody. The cabin instantly felt like a welcoming home after a long day in the cold.

Thank you very much
Michael

7 friends and I just got back from a ski trip at Jay Peak. Everyone loved the cabin and we look forward to staying there again on future trips. It is very well maintained, the amenities are nice and there is tons of room. This is a great spot and I would recommend it to everyone.

The only warnings about the cabin is there is no cell service and it is best to have a 4-wheel drive car in the winter cause there is tons of snow.

Jay Peak Snowboard Trip!

Submitted: January 24, 2011 Stayed: January 2011
Great place and trip overall! The Shovers (and neighbors of the Shovers) were very helpful and accommodating.

I rented a 15 passenger van, brought 7 friends and drove all the way from Columbia, MD, and we fit comfortably in the house. Make sure you don't drive down the road labeled "Closed for the winter" (Especially in the middle of a snow storm at midnight) on the way to the house, Because there is no cell phone service and no houses nearby if you get stuck!

We hit the slopes of Jay Peak every day, it was about 1/2 hour drive each way. It was definitely worth the drive though. It snowed all week and our van made it there and back carefully! The price was reasonable and the place was very very nice! We had some issues with the cable internet (But who needs internet when you are on vacation?!). We loved the wood-burning stove and the homey atmosphere.

Thanks again Robin!

Owner's Response: You're welcome! Yes don't drive a rear wheel drive van to Vermont in the winter! :) The neighbors did end up helping the stuck guests, 2 by 2, but front wheel or four wheel is best! The internet is wireless now! We hope to see you again! Thanks for staying with us!
