We loved it at Sunset. Stayed in one of the Garden Studios, very comfortable and clean. Great location away from the busy high rise hotels and very close to a perfect snorkeling beach. Everyone is great to deal with and very helpful, even put some beer in the fridge for us. My husband lost his keys, they found them and mailed them free of charge. You can't ask for better service than that. We are looking forward to our next visit next year.

We can't say enough positive about this place! JP and Eve are tremendous hosts. The room was fabulous and all we needed (Ocean View 1). What a great location to explore this island. Everyone we met staying there were also so friendly and helpful - many of the couples staying had been there 20 times or more - and that speaks volumes. The mayor - Walt - was also a great source for local information.
We met a tremendous couple (Tom & Cheryl) and made a friendship that we will re-start when we see them again next year. Yes, we all rebooked. That also speaks volumes about just how lovely a place this really is.
Everything you need for cooking is in the room, what you don't have, they'll get. And the cleaning staff is beyond attentive. Fantastic service on all counts!
Our only complaint - too bad we can only rate this on a scale of 5 stars because we'd give it a 10!
See you next year Eve,JP, Tom, Cheyl and Walt!

Perfect spot for us!

It was our first visit to Aruba and we were looking for a place to stay away from the bustle of activities in the high and mid-rise hotel districts. We found the perfect place at Sunset Beach Studios! While I was initially disappointed that the larger studios with a view were booked, our studio was the perfect size, and was possibly the most private on the property. Every evening we walked across the road (not very busy) to enjoy the sunset. We liked having the kitchenette, so that we didn't have to go out for all our meals. The location was convenient if you have a car - it was so easy to get around. The owners staff and other guests were delightful. Loved the blend of nationalities.

Very glad we toured Arikok park - even tho we had a small Kia the driving was fine along the main routes as long as we drove slowly - incredible country! We're not strong swimmers, so the best beach for us was Eagle - parking under the trees, sand beach with gentler swells (downside is they are all hotel properties so you can't rent a chair or buy a drink) but you can rent one from the studios and bring it along.

Staff is so helpful with restaurant suggestions and reservations. Hands down the best fish we ate was at Pelican pier - grilled grouper that tastes like they just plucked it from the sea. It's near the holiday Inn so we might not have tried it without the strong recommendation from a fellow traveler. All around a lovely spot!

First but not the last visit

We had our first visit at the studios for 10 days December 6th-16th. We got in after the office had closed but they were kind enough to put some Amstel Brights, limes, Douwe Egbert's coffee and bagels in the unit for us. We watched the sun set across from our terrace, the first of many more. This is a great location for those who are not dependent on a resort to have a good time. This was our 4th visit to Aruba, and we were ready for something a little different and this was just what we needed. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn, the Marriott Ocean Club and the Phoenix at Divi, and I don't think we will ever do the high rise vacation again. The landscaping is quaint and very pretty, some iguanas scutter around, a couple of kitties make appearances, the maids, Ida and Flores, were accommodating and friendly. The office staff, Monique and Bianca, also very nice and accommodating. This has more of a European flavor to the surroundings and to the other guests, which is very nice. Why travel all that way just to spend all your time around a bunch of noisy Americans? This was more like a true vacation and we loved the Ukranians from Chicago who were next door. Very sweet couple with whom we shared a meal in the palapa and many drinks on the terraces. Don't hesitate to stay here, Boca Catalina is just up the road and we had many nice days snorkeling there. Arashi was a nice beach but the constant tour buses make it a little less nice. Rent a car and go down to Mangel Halto if you want to find some good snorkeling without a lot of people around. We will be back, we really enjoyed it tremendously. Go for the ocean view studios and rent a car, you won't regret it.

Outstanding experience

My girlfriend and I spent a week at Sunset Beach Studios and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The entire staff was friendly and the configuration of the studios-- with the pool/jacuzzi centrally located-- allowed us to meet many fellow vacationers. If it gives you any indication of the quality of the studios, some of the folks we met had been returning for more than ten years!

The studios are a little less than the "high rise" area of Aruba. While there is a very useful bus that passes along the main road in front of the studios, I recommend renting a car unless you are the sort that really enjoys taking walks (car rentals are quite inexpensive anyway).

The most attractive feature of the studios, however, is undoubtedly the location. We visited at least eight beaches while in Aruba, and the beach closest to the studios was our favorite beyond any doubt. The water was clear, the sand was pristine, the wildlife was playful, and the walk to it all was only ten minutes.

We've made several trips in the past few years-- Hawaii, Costa Rica, Jamaica-- but we found ourselves saying that Aruba was our favorite of them all. I don't think we would be saying that with such enthusiasm had we not stayed at Sunset Beach Studios. JP and Eve (the owners) have put together something amazing and I encourage to you to take the trip to meet them!

Seemed a little bigger in the photos, but a very clean and pleasant place to stay.. All of the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and are very attentive to your needs. The staff told us of some great places to eat, but there are several more not very far away. Have a burber at Barney's, and a pizza at Linda's, you'll love it. 200 yards from the best snorkeling beach on the island. Don't forget to pet Rosty, the resident yellow cat who will make you feel right at home. You cannot beat the value for the rates, we were imporessed, and will recommend them to anyone going to Aruba. Bon bidi.

Just got home after a week stay at Aruba Sunset Beach. Love this little place! Our room was very comfortable and all we needed for a week long stay. We chose this place because it is small so no fighting big crowds, the price, and location. The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful.

Hope to come back again!

“Pleasure and comfort”

We stayed in September 2012 in Sunset Beach studios with great pleasure! As a kitesurfer we could launch in front of the resort and kite towards the Fisherman's Hut (The kitespot) where small rescue boats could bring you back in case of emergency.

The resort was very nice as well, the service was friendly and thorough and we had a clean studio every afternoon we got back. The hot-tub, that is available for everyone, was also a very nice in the evening with a cold beer :-)

I would certainly recommend this resort to other couples and singles if you plan to visit Aruba and want to explore the island on your own.

Room Tip: We stayed in "Large Garden 1" where we had side view of the ocean. The Beach view studio.

Sunset Beach provided exactly what I was looking for: peace and quiet but close enough to everything Aruba has to offer! The place is cozy and very homey, and the studios are super clean and very comfortable. And I can't say enough about the hospitality: very attentive and personal as well as friendly and very helpful. I came to spend my birthday in Aruba and I even got a birthday present from the owner Eve!! Both Eve and Monique were the nicest hostess you could wish for!! Thanks for a memorable birthday and such a great time!! I highly recommend Sunset Beach Studios!
