Ice Lakes Mountain Cabin

Situated on the sunny side of the street, in Serene Lakes, it has a hot tub on the deck, and sleeps 10 +child bed. It’s a 5 minute drive to Sugar Bowl Ski Resort (downhill/boarding), and just a 3-minute walk to Royal Gorge Cross-Country Ski Resort. Nearby lakes freeze so you can snow-shoe too --lots of sledding for little ones. Located in Soda Springs, 20 minutes west of Truckee. Summers are fabulous with lake swimming, BBQ & wonderful hiking. The drive from the Bay Area is about 3 hours with minimal traffic. The lovely Ice Lakes Lodge and Restaurant is a 3-minute drive, with summer beach, and winter fires. Details: Four double bedrooms, (one with child bed), two twin beds in a walk thru 'bunk room', 3 full bathrooms, 2 wood-burning stoves, dining room table seats 10, large hot tub on deck under mountain stars! Fully equipped kitchen, laundry, two-car garage. Linens provided. Caretaker in downstairs apt.

This is a 'sister-owned' cabin. This area of the Sierras is beautiful in all seasons. Close to fabulous hiking, skiing, mountain biking. Please enjoy as we do!!

Great winter retreat for a big family!

We had 5 adults and 4 kids for three nights in March. The cabin is spacious and well-equipped, plenty of room for all of us, even sitting at the dining room table. Super convenient to Royal Gorge and Soda Springs Ski area, plus sledding out back and across the street. We also went to the KidZone kids' museum in Truckee for a couple of hours. Other places we've stayed lacked some basic amenities, like paper towels and hand soap. Not here. We would definitely come back again.

It's fabulous in the summer - sunny, lots to do, nice drive to local attractions like Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe and the casinos. House is just wonderful, tons of room, lots of privacy. Also stayed in the winter, lots of snow, great skiing or just playing in the snow or hanging out in the hot tub.
