'Casa de Cielo' or the 'house from heaven' as the original Costa Rican owners named it is a private refuge where one can truly feel that he or she is surrounded by rainforest and not people. Even though it is five minutes from the beach, due to the beautiful jungle surroundings the pool is completely private and unable to be seen by anyone that is not staying there. The birds and perfume from jungle flowers awaken you in the morning. A cool breeze reminds you that you are truly off the beaten path.
The house is made from natural Costa Rican wood, built lovingly as a vacation home by 'Ticos' from another era. The lanai has an ocean view and one can sit in a hammock and watch the monkeys play or the macaws and hummingbirds fly by. The kitchen and bathroom have all modern amenities.
Amigos del Rio, an outfitter is at the bottom of the hill for those who want to go rafting, kayaking, zip-lining, etc.
'Abuela' (grandmother in Spanish) lives at the bottom of the hill and keeps an eye on all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren who own homes on the small road leading up to Casa de Cielo. She has a small 'soda' where she sells the most delicious fresh fish, rice and beans that you have ever tasted. This is truly Costa Rica-not a slapped together American condo.
