This was my third consecutive year where I took my family of four with two smaller girls to Dr. Frank and Jeanne's 1 bdr condo at the Sundial. Frank is very accomodating and he cares about his property. He has made incremental investments to upgrade the property every year we have come. He has recently added a new leather sofa and chair, a new microwave and a new flatscreen TV in the bedroom. The unit is accurately represented by the photos. The in-unit washer and dryer were added last season. He maintains it well. He is an honest owner with very competitive rates. My whole family loves it here every year. Frank and Jeanne take comments and feedback from guests seriously and strive to provide a memorable experience for their guests. The view of the gulf is fabulous. The unit is a very short walk from the condo association pool which is also well maintained. The pool area restrooms were just remodeled and are very nice. This a great place for a couple or a family with one or two small children (pre-teen or younger). If the children are getting older, then you could have one child use the sofa sleeper and one child sleep on the floor using a camping matress. That's what we did and it worked great.

The span of beach in front of the Sundial is spectacular. Nearly every day we saw Florida dolphins swimming by, fairly close to shore, as we tanned on the beach. Frank has several nice beach lounge chairs and a nice beach umbrella that we used. That was very convenient to have. The swimming in the ocean is great because the shallow sand extends very far out into the ocean which was warm. You can find more larger shells if you are willing to swim out from shore a little distance. You can still stand on the bottom at least 100 feet from shore.

We tried Doc Ford's restaurant this year and we liked it a lot! The steamed oysters and the carrot cake dessert were fantastic.

My wife commented that we may not want other folks to know about Frank and Jeanne's condo so that it doesn't get booked when we need to come. We want it to be "our secret"! It's a great find and our family high recommends it!

The condo was just as presented. Clean, great view of the ocean, quiet yet plenty to do (or nothing if you choose). Dr. Frank's map and instructions for obtaining the key were very easy to follow and everything went smoothly. Would definately stay again on next trip to Sanibel. If looking for a great place to eat, try Doc Ford's!

We very much enjoyed our visit at Frank's condominium. The location was perfect, with a view of the ocean and ready access to the beach. The place itself was comfortable and well-appointed, with all the amenities that we needed. The photos in the rental actually don't do it's justice; it's much nicer than pictured.
Frank himself was very helpful -- he made sure that we were well taken care of.

We were at the condo from 11/20-27/12. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, appox. 77 degrees every day with very little humidity. This property is lovely and well-maintained. The property looks just like the pictures. Frank e-mailed me to let me know that the condo had been cleaned and would be available for us before the 3 pm check in time. Frank was easy to reach by phone and e-mail and even called the night we arrived to check that we arrived safely. The condo is only feet from the beach which we walked on every day. You can see the Gulf from the balcony and it faces slightly West so you even get to watch the sun set. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and appliances. The washer and dryer in the condo was very handy and they even provided detergent and softener. There is a shuffleboard court near the front of the condo complex. After we looked up the rules on an iphone, the game became more fun as it is a game of strategy and skill. Frank suggested that we rent bicycles from Billy's Bike Rentals. Billy's was very easy to work with and will deliver the bikes right to the condo and then pick them up after you leave. Park your car, rent bikes and you can bike everywhere you want to be on the island. In fact, I imagine at peak times it would be better to be on bikes as the main road (Periwinkle) can become very congested with cars. The bike paths are separate from the roadways and there are bike racks everywhere. We didn't leave anything of value in the bike baskets (cameras, purses, etc.) but we often left sandals and clothes when we were walking on the beaches and never felt that we had to worry about them. All of Sanibel Island seemed very clean and well maintained but there was still plenty of wildlife habitat for the animals. We saw a large gator in the Ding Darling Refuge and had a bobcat scoot across a bridge right in front of us as we were biking. We would definitely recommend this condo and if we make it back to Sanibel Island we definitely want to rent from Frank.

We've stayed at other condos on the island and by far, this condo was the best value we've run across. The owner was easy to deal with, friendly, responsive and helpful. The condo was well appointed, clean and roomy. Should we return to the island, we certainly will check to see if this particular rental is available. Our thanks to Dr Frank!

We feel very honoured to be the first English Cousins to rent this beautiful condo. It is extremely well furnished and has everything to make it a real home from home, including many personal touches. Dr Frank and Jeanne have been extremely helpful from our very first email to when we arrived and Dr Frank 'phoned to us to make us feel very welcome. The view from the balcony really is like paradise. We have travelled extensively in many countries and this condo is one of the very best we have rented. The property was actually better than the description and the photos, while accurate, didn't do it justice. The property was clean, well maintained and you won't find a better owner. If you have ever been to Sanibel or are thinking of your first trip, do not hesitate to reserve this property if it is available. Frank not only does what he says, he goes above and beyond. In today's world, that is very refreshing and greatly appreciated. I would rent with him again in a second. Great guy and a great condo.

The location was great as we didn't get the sun until after noon. The closeness to the beach was a short walk and the shelling was great. I walked every morning to the Gulfside City park and walked the beach back to the Condo. We found the unit clean and roomy. The kitchen was larger than we thought it would be and the frig held all of our needs nicely. The king size bed was comfy. We are thinking of returning in October of 2013 as we have stayed both times in May and want to get a feel for Florida in the fall. Great unit, great location and we'll be back.
