Semi retired, owned property for almost 30 years, the original Ledlow was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004. We live in New Orleans so after Katrina, we dealt with all of the Katrina problems for several years. Finally we could see the light at the end of the tunnel and decided to rebuild the beach house. We purchased our original place over 30 years ago, then Perdido Key was relative undeveloped. Now although there is more development, it is positive - supermarkets, shopping, all near by but not next door. How many beach houses have 300 ft undeveloped beach on one side and 200 ft on the other, not to mention our 100 ft in the center.
We purchased this property because of the pristine nature of its snow white beachs, and low popupation density; the original beach house was destroyed by Ivan. We completed building its replacement which we love. We like the area because it is low key, most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, yet there are shopping, restaurants, supermarkets, entertainment close by. Property has no buildings on either side so you really feel like the beach is yours yet you are not isolated.
Easy to get to, relatively uncrowded, incredible beaches, can accommodate large groups, excellent venue for destination weddings, family reunions, and cooperate retreats. Near shopping, restaurants, super markets, Tangiers discount mall only about 30 min drive.
