I booked this house for a sister-getaway to celebrate my sister's 60th birthday. I looked at hundreds of places on-line, but this property kept standing out as the best. It had just the right warmth, privacy, charm and location that we were looking for. We were within walking distance to lots of shops on Jefferson Avenue and to the downtown area as well. The owner could not have been more accommodating and friendly. This house is really well appointed, the pictures online are accurate and the steam shower is heavenly. I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I spent a week at the Ballard House and immensely enjoyed ourselves! When we arrived, everything was spotless, and Geri brought us some local goodies. The house is just as well-decorated as the pictures show. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and more! The steam shower was fabulous! Everything in the house worked for us... we didn't have any problems. The Sturgeon Bay area is beautiful, and the house is in an excellent location. It's close to the water, downtown, restaurants, and stores. We highly recommend the Ballard House! Thanks again, Geri!

Geri Ballard and the Ballard house far exceeded my expectations for a great get-away. The house was very well decorated and between the gourmet kitchen, comfortable and well kept living room/dining room, steam/shower and great old-fashioned bathtub we had adequate room for 4 and space for all to hang together or separately. It was a real plus to be able to walk downtown and take time exploring all of the eclectic shops on both sides of the river. The Maritime museum was great. I would recommend Kick restaurant for great coffee and sandwiches. The only drawback was that there was no snow when we were there, but we still were able to drive to the State Parks for hiking. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Ballard House to anyone looking for a place in Sturgeon Bay.

The property was my home for 2 months in October and November 2012, while working in Sturgeon Bay. It has been a real pleasure staying in the house and I've never felt home sick, it is warm and charming. I found the house clean and tidy, with food in the pantry and all the cleaning tools and soaps for the dishwasher, washmachine and housekeeping. I never had to buy anything. Pictures truly reflects the house, but it is better in person! Owner was great and I was able to sign the contract by email all the way in Italy. I enjoyed everyday cooking in the huge kitchen, and belive me, it has everything. That kitchen has seen may pizzas. Living room and dining room are the perfect location for parties and entertaining friends, there is plenty of space. The upstair is great, bedrooms are homy, beds are very comfortable and there is more than enough space for clothes and storage of luggage. Bathroom is gigantic, steamy shower is great as well as the huge bathtub. Many towels and many drawers. Don't even worry to park the car because the garage and the drive way can fit more than 5 trucks ( tested!). The house is set 5 walking minutes away from 3rd avenue ( the city centre) from all shops and pubs. The only bother, which is for any location in Sturgeon Bay, is the grocery shops, they are located few miles from the centre and you definitively need a car to go there. The house is set in a nice spot, no noises and not far from shipyards and centre. Sturgeon Bay is a magnificent little town as well as Door County, they really take your breath away! You will not find a better deal, I recommend this house, you will not find a better deal!

My husband and I stayed in Geri's home for a week while we explored Door County. Her location is superb. The furthest we ever drove was 1 hour up to the Washington Island Ferry. All the "villages" along the way - Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Ephraim, Sister Bay, Bailey's Harbor - are all within 10 to 30 minutes from her place, and each was so fun to explore! In Sturgeon Bay, there's no need to use your car for a lot of activities that are within walking distance from this home. The shops on Jefferson are right around the corner. (Child's Play is right next door) That flows into 3rd Street, where there are more shops and restaurants to choose from. And even from there, the waterfront is a few blocks away, for more sightseeing. Cross the bridge and visit the Maritime Museum and don't miss out on touring the Tugboat! Everything was so easy staying here. The bed was comfortable, the steam shower was awesome, the location is quiet, her living room was great after each day of being on our feet, and although we didn't cook, the kitchen was more than adequate if you want to entertain. Geri is super easy to work with. She is a really quick e-mailer for any questions that we had prior to visiting Door County, and she's a block back for any concerns you have while you're there. You won't be disappointed staying here. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone!

This home is beautifully renovated and furnished. Great decor; high end furnishings. When we arrived, the owner was very helpful with tips on things to do. Home was spotless. Kitchen was stocked with things like spices, paper products, soap, etc. Great location. We walked to 3rd Avenue for shopping and restaurants. Enjoyed Sturgeon Bay - very nice community. Enjoyed the northern part of Door County for hikes, golf, and wineries. Door County is a great destination for vacation. We highly recommend this home for a stay - very well done, comfortable, nice yard.

This house, which felt like home to me, is perfect for the traveler who wants all the comforts. Top of the line everything is included in this rental. The decor is pristine yet comfortable, mixing modern with vintage. Nothing was overlooked in this design and every possible amenity is at your disposal. I enjoyed entertaining a few local friends while staying because I had to take full advantage of the gourmet kitchen. Everything is easily accessible and stress free. I also liked the location to historic 3rd Street in Sturgeon Bay, everything is within walking distance. It was so nice to wake in the mornings, open the curtains and windows, and have a cup of tea and gently start my day. We, my friend and I, enjoyed the atmosphere so much we spent as much time inside as out and about. The owner has taken great care to provide environmentally conscious products throughout. She is a block away if you need her, but will not disturb you a bit. Privacy is completely respected. My expectations were exceeded a hundred times. The photos listed are amazing but once you walk inside it will take your breath away. Charming, convenient, eco-conscious, and comfortable are the few of many words I could use to describe this rental. Not a single detail has been overlooked. I'll be back for sure!

We just returned from our week long Door County vacation feeling refreshed and eager to plan our next trip there. The Ballard House was the perfect fit for our relaxing week. Both comfortable and cozy we found the house to offer all of the comforts of home plus a few more. The steam shower and soaking tub were a special treat! The decor is superb and the home's functionality is well planned, we had everything we needed to ensure a stress free vacation. The owners have done an excellent job making sure that you have anything & everything you might want while staying at the Ballard House. Sturgeon Bay was a great location for us to come back to after a day exploring Door County.
