The place was well furnished. Roomy for our family of 4. Kids loved it because it was close to the water. The private boat slip 50 steps from the Backdoor was super convenient. The kitchen had the 1970's equipment but they were clean. Wifi and garage access was a great convenience. No AC but the summer breeze was enough to cool the place down. I felt very safe walking around or jogging. The Marina and beach was within walking distance. The backyard patio had some uneven squares but there was a table and chairs to sit in. Check in and check outwas real simple and no hassle. Price was reasonable and best of all, the owner is responsive. Ask a question and you get a timely response. No issues with the house. It was clean when we got there. I would rate 5 stars if check out was noon instead of 11am. We will stay here again.

My family stayed here for a few days and really enjoyed it! The house is as described. A bit dated but very functional. We used the charcoal grill each night and found the kitchen easy to use. Overall the beds were comfortable and the house was clean. The access to the beach and dock were a big bonus. We would stay here again!

This home is just as described. Quiet neighborhood. The 3 bdrms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Well maintained. Very clean and the bdrms are away from the living and kitchen area. It fit our needs quite well. It was nice to having Wifi so we could check on activities and restaurants. Highly recommend Scusa's for dinner. Great Italian food. Doyle and Eunice Jones were easy to work with. Liked the use of a key pad and not having to go to a property management company to get the key for entry. Our Security/damage deposit was in our hands in a weeks time. We would recommend this property

We arrived to find this place bigger then the picture depicted. It comfortably slept 8 people but could easily house 10. The kitchen is a little small for having more then 2 people cooking (we tent to hang out in the kitchen for some reason) but it worked out just fine. Some of the appliances (oven and stove) are a little outdated but still worked. Having two bathrooms is a god send and the fact that the bedrooms are on one side of the house makes it better for those who liked to stay up a little later. The place seems to be very well maintained and I would say the best part of our whole stay is that this house back up directly to the water in the keys which was completely frozen over. We ended up meeting some of the awesome neighbors who had a bonfire pit set up on the ice and invited us to enjoy the fire on the ice. It was perfect for New years! I would recommend this place to anyone with close friends of family needing a place to stay and the owners are very easy to communicate with and also very accommodating.

Wonderful rental property hosts

8-15 Aug 2011. My family and I visited Lake Tahoe for the first time. I am a retired USAF Msgt. Been all over the world. This was one of, if not the best vacation areas, i have had the pleasure of visiting. No small part of that was because of our wonderful rental property hosts, Doyle and Eunice Jones. They were the best. Helpful in every way possible. The house is located in Tahoe Keys, South Tahoe. It is close to numerous hiking trails and Lake beaches. There is a small beach with a playground within a 3 minute walk of the house. The house offered 3 bedrooms and with a great layout for the eight of us, including 3 children, to feel comfortable. If you decide to give Tahoe a try, call Eunice and Doyle, as I've said before, they are the best.

Wonderful! Have hiked the past two days. Monday Rubicon trail. Yesterday Angora lake. Have been eating all of our meals in as it's just so easy in your kitchen. This is our first time staying in the Keys. Great home base to explore from.

We were a family of 5 with a couple who joined us for a few days. This home was a good value, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. The home is centrally located to many things, this was more of a 'home base' with us gone a lot rather than where we hung out. When we were around, the kids (ages 9-13) were one block from a large open green space where they could walk to play ball, frisbee, etc and only two blocks from the playground. My son thoroguly enjoyed the dock access and was there each morning and evening fishing (mostly catch and release blue gills). We did not use the Keys ammenities (i.e. pool) as we ran out of time and it was a bit expensive ($7 per person for one day) when we already had beach access (again 2 blocks away there is a mini beach). The owners were very easy to work with and the deposit was returned super fast. We would probaby stay again.
Recommended for:
Age 55+,
Families with Teenagers,
Families with Young Children

We planned a last minute New Years vacation at Doyle and Eunice's home in the Tahoe Keys. The location was absolutely excellent, easy to get to, in-out of, and close to grocery stores and strip malls. The area is very quiet with lots of neighbors going for leisurely strolls during the day. We went to the rec center to look at the pool and hot tubs, but did not use them because we ran out of time. There is a $20 charge per person to use the facility each day.
The home was the perfect size for our family of four. The pictures are exactly how it looks (except we were there when it was covered in snow). Towels and linens are all furnished. The beds are very comfortable. The only problems we had were that the kitchen is very outdated and the stovetop was almost impossible to use, as the burners did not sit flat. The wood burning stove emits a somewhat gaseous smell but the central heating works perfectly. The wireless service worked. The DirectTV service was down a bit due to the snow and weather, but we did get it working. There is a very basic service on the TV so there were only 4 or 5 channel options and we were hoping for some ESPN or Disney Channel for the kids.
We would stay at this home again if a few things were updated, We were able to park in the garage which was also a very nice thing. The owners were very sweet. One of the neighbors made himself available to help out with anything needed.
