We have just returned from a wonderful month's experience in Puerto Morelos and Ocean Homes. First of all we want to thank Bob, Ramon, Alma, Marilyn and the rest of the staff for making Ocean Homes "our home away from home." In previous years we did the "all inclusive" resort, which was wonderful, however staying in Puerto Morelos for a month we found out first hand what it is to be "a local." It was more than what we could have ever expected. The condos, given the opportunity to experience both the 3rd and main floors, are well equipped, clean and more than spacious. At times there were 4 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. Everything worked and if it didn't the staff were on it right away and things were rectified immediately. It was so nice to come home with clean clothes having laundry facilities right in the condo. The grounds are immaculate with beautiful plants and flowers throughout. The pool is wonderful. With Greg's handicap he was able to go in the pool on his own to swim and get his daily exercise. The concrete area allowed him to get around with ease and the beach is fabulous, clean and maintained on a regular basis. How can that big body of water be sooooo warm!!!! Ocean Homes is in a perfect location in the village of Puerto Morelos. We did the Costco in Cancun trip once (yes the Cdn Costco card works) and the rest of the time we were able to easily walk to Town Square in the village to get any supplies. It is close enough to the village but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. We enjoyed meeting and talking with the other guests in the complex. We've made some new friends and hope we can all be together again in the future. It was nice to hear that most guests were returning for their 2nd or 3rd time. There was some construction going on in the area but we didn't mind as it is all for the better and the new decks look great. The restaurants in the village are all wonderful, Cantina Habeneros was exceptional, it is a place "where they really make you feel like a local!" The only thing we could think of missing in the village was a fresh meat store (ie. steaks). The fruits and vegetables couldn't have been more fresh. We loved learning about the village and its people and look forward to spending many more years at Ocean Homes and PM and hopefully more friends and family will join us so they get to experience all that we have. My wife and I and another couple just finished staying at Ocean Homes and loved it! Our only regret was we were only there for a week. This is the 3rd year we have rented a condo in PoMo and this complex is by far the best we have ever rented. The condo itself is very clean, spacious and has all the amenities you could hope for. The only thing missing was a cork screw and within minutes, Ramon brought one to us. He and his wife, Alma and the developer, Bob, were great to work with and very accomodating. We stayed on the 4th floor and we had a great view. Actually, the view from any of the condos would be good. We went up to the roof several times(there are stairs leading the way) and from there, you can see in all directions. The pools are good sized but with the ocean so close, we were in that water more. The beach is very well groomed and no rocks or any hazards to watch for as you enter the ocean. It was never busy around the pool or at the palapas out front. You could always find a beach chair and/or palapa to use. You won't find any of that deal where people throw a towel or a book on a chair in the early morning hours to insure they get one. There is even a larger palapa on the edge of the property with benches and swing chairs. We used that once during the only time in rained(maybe 15 minutes) during our stay. There are 20 units on the property, of which I think about half are sold. Another nice thing is the location. It is within an easy walk, either beach side or the street to town. We even walked back some nights but if you take a taxi, it is 20 pesos, about $1.80. We just preferred walking most of the time. My only worry in writing this review is that it might entice more people to stay there during the time period we are planning on going back in 2013. It will definitely be 2 or more weeks next year.

We were looking for a place to spend a relaxing vacation at the Mayan Riviera, away from the main tourist areas of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, that could also serve as base for day trips to the many Mayan ruins we wanted to visit with our rental car. We found all this and more at Ocean Homes in Puerto Morelos, just 15 min. south from the hustle and bustle of Cancun. Even before we actually left for Mexico, our vacation had a good start: Bob, the owner, was easy to reach by phone and email and patiently answered all of our questions. He even sent additional photos of the complex and gave valuable travel tips. When we arrived at Ocean Homes, Ramon, the architect who designed the complex and who resides on the premises, welcomed us and was a great host during our stay. He made sure everything was in order and gave us many tips on where to go and what to see in the area.
The Ocean Homes complex is very modern and new, and the condos are very spacious and have everything you need. We rented one of the penthouse units which had two large master bedrooms and an open floor plan for kitchen, dining and living areas. The unit has three good size balconies: one out of the living room and one each out of the two bedrooms. The views from this unit are spectacular: to the East we could enjoy the sunrise and 180 degree ocean views from the living room and one of the bedrooms, to the West we could watch the sun setting over the jungle areas outside Puerto Morelos.
The pool area is beautiful, and the grounds are nicely landscaped and well maintained. We loved the on site massages by Luisa in the morning. From the pool area you can get directly onto the beach where several palapas are installed to offer shade. The beach in front of Ocean Homes is probably one of the nicest and widest in Puerto Morelos and is raked every morning. You can walk for miles or enjoy the warm and crystal clear water. A large coral reef is only a short boat ride off the beach and offers great snorkeling. The town of Puerto Morelos goes to great effort to protect the reef, and it shows: we have never seen that many different species of living corals.
We walked to town square every day (about 1 mile) and had dinner at the many great little restaurants in Puerto Morelos. There are also a couple of small convenience stores and ATMs. If you love seafood you have to try the seafood platter for two at Pelicanos; it is delicious.

We have rented condos in puerto morelos in the past but this one is the best property that we have ever stayed at.The unit has everything that you would need or want.Ramone is a great host and will take care of anything that you would need.He put us in touch with a fishing boat and got us a great price. We caught a seven foot sailfish along with many other fish. Ramone answered all questions about the area and was a great help.We would have loved to purchase one of the units but right now it is out of our budget but it was tempting.The pool and outdoor areas are very well taken care of and the guys who work there are very freindly and helpful.Ocean homes is a true gem in puerto morelos ,there is no other development in town that has the perks that this place has.We will return and rent again and we recomend this place for anyone looking for a quiet vacation where you are really renting a piece of paradise.
