Oceanfront condo on a spectacular beach! Watch the sunrise over the water and feel the ocean breeze. Walk directly out on the beach with your own private access. This is a wonderful place for your summer vacation, or a romantic weekend getaway. The gorgeous beach is staffed from Memorial Day through Labor Day by life guards. Take a short walk to the boardwalk, pier, beach shops, and many friendly restaurants.
Our condo is nicely decorated, updated, and includes free WiFi, digital cable, a DVD player (with tons of DVD's), a new full size washer and dryer, all beach chairs, and a beach umbrella. We have an outdoor shower to rinse off and there are two parking spaces. The kitchen is fully-equipped - all you need to bring is your food. Your private oceanfront deck is perfect for dining, watching the dolphins play, or watching the pelicans soar. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom (new mattress), two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a new (June 2013) queen size sleeper sofa.
The unit is on the second floor with a great view of the ocean. On the ground floor is a storage closet with beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards, and kids beach toys. The storage unit is locked so you can store any beach items you bring. Take the private wooden walkway over the dune directly to your beach. Since it is not located near any major parking areas for day visitors you will have plenty of room on the beach to spread out and enjoy the day! When you are done, there is an outdoor shower to rinse off the beach sand and help you feel refreshed.
About the area: Carolina Beach and Reefs VI are located on Pleasure Island and is accessible by bridge from the north or ferry boat from the south. Charter boats for fishing, dining, and tours are located in Carolina Beach. Restaurants, shopping, the North Carolina Aquarium, Fort Fisher Civil War museum, and beach rentals (bikes, etc.) are also on the island.
There is a bicycle path that runs along a part of the island. There are two piers on the island for fishing. Pleasure Island features various festivals throughout the year. The Spring Festival at Carolina and Kure Beaches features live entertainment, arts and crafts. Several Golf courses are located close by and there is a disc golf course at Kure Beach. There are several shops in the area featuring beach items ranging from clothing to home decor. Numerous restaurants are just a short walk from the condo and serve meals ranging from snacks and casual to more formal evening meals.
The historic port city of Wilmington, located 17 miles away, plays host to various special events. One is the North Carolina Azalea festival in April featuring live musical and theater performances, garden and historic homes tours, outdoor activities, food, and crafts. During the summer outdoor activities are scheduled along the Wilmington riverfront.
The North Carolina Battleship Museum and riverfront cruises are in Wilmington. A ferryboat makes the half hour trip to the quaint town of Southport. Cars or Bicycles may be taken onto the ferry that goes from Fort Fisher to Southport, both great places to visit.
My wife and I are so happy to own a condo right on the beach. We love the sounds and smells of the ocean and enjoy taking walks along the beach.
This condo just seems to be the perfect fit to use ourselves and to rent out. It is on the second floor and has a covered porch so you can enjoy some shade on a warm summer day and the building has it's own private walkway directly onto the beach.
We are close to the boardwalk area but not too close. You can walk there for all the excitement and fun of live bands, Britt's donuts, and people watching but then head back to the condo for some quiet time. Because there is limited parking near the condo you won't get very many people on our stretch of beach and you'll be able to spread out all to yourselves!
