Simple and spacious four bedroom bungalow on a tree-lined street just over a mile to South Shore Beach and about a half mile to the Commons. This classic Little Compton home is a perfect retreat after a day at the beach or digging clams on the river. Enjoy the partially enclosed, screened front porch, the back patio area or yard & garden for taking in afternoon breezes and enjoying meals outside.
Groceries, supplies, shopping: Little Compton has a small, local general store — Wilburs General Store — in the Commons, which sells groceries, small hardware and household items, as well as gifts and toys. We also have a local gas station and convenience store, Earles, located just beyond the Commons on Meeting House Lane and right next to Goularts Package Store. For a more extensive grocery selection, Lees Market is just a short drive away (±10 miles) in Westport. Little Compton also has a post office, coffee shop, galleries, a Sovereign bank/ATM and a Bank of American ATM, and a few restaurants right in and around the Commons. For our visitors closer to Adamsville, there are additional package and general stores as well.
Beaches: Little Compton’s main town beach on the ocean is South Shore Beach located at the end of South Shore Road. A per-car fee is charged for parking; weekly passes are available. Get there early on hot, sticky days as the parking lot has a tendency to fill up and there is no other parking in the immediate area. Other town ocean beaches are available on Sakonnet Point and at the Town Landing. Tenants also have access to the Sakonnet River via Town Way and Taylors Lane. None of our rentals have passes available for Briggs or Warren’s Point Beaches.
Things to Do: Little Compton is rural in nature and boasts beautiful beaches, ponds and recreational areas. Antique, fine art, decorative crafts and boutique shops can be found just minutes away in nearby Tiverton Four Corners and Westport’s Central Village.
