Absolutely loved it here! Went here March 2013 for our annual friends gathering/ Chicago getway to explore wineries & breweries, it was by far our favorite property we stayed for more reasons than one!
The customer service was great, started by a email from the owner prior to my department explaining local attractions with links and phone numbers, dining recommendations, map of beach, and directions from each possible way my group & I could be coming from.
The house was beautiful! Spacious, actual beds for 10 people (phew!), great layout, SUPER CLEAN, huge master bedroom jacuzzi, hot tub for 6, hard wood floors, plush carpet, walk in closets, I felt like the price was a steal for how nice it was! The house was filled with tons of stuff other properties I've stayed at did not have for example it had recent board games I actually wanted to play, a huge DVD collection, wi fi, cable, interesting books, and enough bikes for like 20 people!
I really appreciated they had purchased fresh flowers on the kitchen island for us, it was a sweet touch!

We use this wonderful home every year for girls weekend and love it! The four bedrooms make it the perfect place. The jacuzzi is great for a soak after a long day of shopping at the Michigan City outlets. You can't beat the proximity to the beach for scenic walk!

This home is wonderful! Very cozy and accommodating for a bunch of us ladies. It was very clean when we arrived and even had logs ready for us in the fireplace! After a beautiful day of xc-skiing on the beach only a half mile away, it felt great to relax outside in the hot tub. At night we played games by the fire and watched movies in the incredibly spacious living room. A great winter get-away.
All-in-all I give this home 7 stars! It had everything we needed and was the perfect retreat. Ed was very easy to communicate with and provided loads of information on the area. We hope to now go back during the warmer months!!

This is the second time I have stayed at the Cottage and will surely stay again! I enjoy the quiet of the porch on a brisk morning when it isn't too chilly with a warm cup of tea. This place provides me with a serenity that I don't have often enough and I am ever-grateful!

The last couple years, our extended family from Chicago has rented in this neighborhood. The area is great, even in the winter and this year, we really enjoyed the Riley's spacious house. With three, twenty-five pound puppies, four sets of adults, and a twenty pound turkey there was still ample space to relax. Plus, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare Thanksgiving dinner! ...including a walk in refrigerator aka large, screened porch that's surely a favorite in warmer months. Even with the cold weather, we enjoyed the hottub, hikes with the dogs, and trips to local establishments to 'warm up.'

We'd certainly stay here again and had a pleasant trip overall.

This beautiful "home" is the perfect setting for our annual Thanksgiving family gathering. We have been going there for the past few years. The main floor kitchen and great room has easily accommodated as many as 25 of us for a family dinner. The large backyard lets the kids run around within eyesite and has a great spot for a bonfire. The beach and downtown are an easy walk.
I would have to say I would love to live there year round. The design of the house makes for the perfect vacation rental The overall cleanliness plus the thoughtful, gracious rental hosts, Ed and Bridget Riley and of course the excellent location makes this a wonderful memory each year.

I just spent a weekend there for a girls wine trip. The house is absolutely beautiful. It had plenty of bedrooms, space and all the extra amenities. I can't think of one thing that this house is missing. I wish we had warmer weather to enjoy the screened in porch, but the hot tub made up for that. We all snuggled up and enjoyed a movie by the fire. We are going to plan our next girls weekend there. Ed was very informative of things to do in the area. Our first night in we ate at Frankies, the food was excellent! Our favorite wineries were Lemon Creek and Gravity. Round Barn was ok. I would highly recommend eating lunch at Tabor Hill. The grounds are beautiful, but I wouldn't waste my time at their tasting. The wine is not good and they were not nice. Gravity was $10 for the tastings but they paired each wine with cheese or chocolate. That was the only winery that gave you food. If you go to Round Barn I would suggest to try the Black Walnut Creme, it was delicious.

I just left Aiden's House and I must say that I concur with the other 5 star reviews, the place was Perfect! Ed and Bridget truly thought of EVERYthing. I've stayed in several places along the Michigan coast and this house was the cleanest and most well organized of the bunch so far. Do yourself a favor and book it when it's available!
