My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 small daughters at the front end of a 2 week trip to Italy in June (would have been 3 nights, but we missed a flight connection). It was a great find. The location was fabulous - just a few blocks from the water and St. Mark's, but set back on a quiet courtyard away from the throngs of cruiseship guests that clog Venice during the day. And it was so quiet at night we were amazed! The apartment has all the essentials and several luxuries by European standards (e.g., clothes dryer!). A nice king bed in the bedroom with ample armoire space and a full futon in the living room - all white, airy, IKEA-style furnishings as pictured. There was a slightly strange set-up with the shower (separate from the bathroom) and it was a little tiny, but given the age of the building, the facilities were amazing and the place immaculate. The bathroom and kitchen packed a lot of function into small spaces (e.g., sink/toilet/bidet/clothes dryer in bathroom). The private terrace was lovely - a perfect place to have our breakfast each morning, with sights and sounds of nearby churches. Our hosts gave us great directions to a local supermarket and restaurants, and ran right out to replace the espresso maker which had gotten damaged by the last visitors. Despite the heat in Venice during the day, there were beautiful breezes at night, but I wish we had figured out how to use the A/C, since we found ourselves beseiged with mosquitos t night (window screens are rarity and the shades didn't help keep them out). Besides that, the only other drawbacks were climbing the steps with our luggage (apartment is on 3rd floor by US standards) and the fact that our host wasn't waiting for us when we arrived, despite our having called several times with updates about our ETA from the airport and water taxi. We ended up waiting ~10 minutes in the courtyard. Not a big deal, but after our very long journey, we were all anxious to settle in. If we are lucky enough to be back in Venice any time soon, I would definitely look to stay here again.
