Memorable Stay at Casa Contenta

ESK Las Vegas
Review Submitted: May 31, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
We have vacationed with two other couples annually for the past twelve years, staying exclusively in private rented homes. Our stay at Casa Contenta has to rank as our most memorable.

When we first stepped into the courtyard-patio entrance to Casa Contenta, our immediate reaction was “Wow”. The unique open design, the magnificent not to be forgotten views of the Pacific Ocean, Banderous Bay and mountains beyond and our unexpected greeting by Mercedes and Mauri with refreshing margaritas will remain vividly in our memories for a long time to come!

Casa Contenta is conveniently located close to town in an exclusive, yet seemingly “remote” location. From its unparallel views from almost everywhere within the home, to its spacious bedrooms and common areas, and its well coordinated furnishings Casa Contenta should be on every luxury vacationers' “Bucket List”.

An extremely relaxing home away from home!

Our stay here at Casa Contenta was simply perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Mercedes and Mauri, who are the property manager and housekeeper. After our sticky hot ride from the airport, the first thing they did was put a frosty delicious margarita in our hand, accompanied by some freshly made salsa and chips. Mercedes was extremely helpful with gathering information and arranging side trips. Mauri was there daily to cater to our every need, and keep the house fresh and clean.

Exploring the city each day was a morning event, followed by crashing into our own private pool to float for an hour, cool off, and then relax and read or watch the amazing views and sunsets (from any place in the villa). Breakfast was a short walk down to the beach. Dinners were spent at some of the best restaurants. We highly recommend Trio, Hacienda Angel (especially on Friday night when they have an excellent Mariachi band), Michael's, or Maxamillian's. A great place for lunch is Joe Jack's Fish Shack, for the best Mojitos with Fish & Chips! If you love horseback riding, we suggest you try Rancho Capomo. It is a beautiful ranch up in the jungle, and the ride crosses the river several times before reaching the falls. The horses are in very good shape, well cared for and trained. Our trip there was one of the highlights of our time in Puerta Vallarta.

Casa Contenta is an oasis of beauty, relaxation and quiet surrender. Each room is simply lovely. We can't say enough to help one understand how you will feel from the moment you walk into the Villa and see the breath taking views. The hosts, Dianne and John, have created a quiet paradise that is worth experiencing! We want to thank John and Dianne for creating something so lovely, and Mercedes and Mauri for ensuring that we enjoyed each moment at the Casa. Best Wishes for a great time in Puerta Villarta! Calie and Giles

Great Vacation

Review Submitted: August 12, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
A group of friends and I made the journey down to Puerto Vallarta for a long weekend and Casa Contenta was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything about the house is great, the views are awesome and the owners/staff are extremely helpful, accessible and pleasant to work with. The property is very well maintained, there is plenty of space and overall it's just an incredibly nice atmosphere.

The pool and deck are great for hanging out and cooking on the grill. It was easy to get into the city, which we did quite often - each time we called the taxi service, our cars would arrive in 5 minutes. We arranged breakfast to be cooked each morning, which was a great decision.

We really couldn't have asked for a better trip, or a better place to stay. I highly recommend Casa Contenta and I hope to return for another visit!

What a lovely place! We stayed at Casa Contena for five wonderful days and nights. The house is lovely, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. The location was great and included free exercise walking up the hill! The pool is great for relaxing, but not really for swimming. We enjoyed just "floating" and watching the sunset'each night. Mauri was wonderful and takes beautiful care of the house. We paid extra for her to prepare breakfast and it was well worth it. We hired Lalo to prepare dinner and we loved it so much that we hired him for a second night and asked him to prepare the same meal! All, in all a great place.

We had a ball at Casa Contenta! Our group of friends has been visiting Puerto Vallarta for several years. We've stayed in a different villa each time and Casa Contenta gets high marks for beauty, location, comfort and staff. Mauri, our housekeeper, made sure that everyone had what they needed. We hired a cook who prepared two fantastic dinners. The villa itself is more beautiful than the pictures in the website suggest. We used the pool every day, walked into town (most of us took a taxi back because we're old and out of shape), loved the convenience of the phone and wireless internet service. I'm sure that everyone in our group would give an unqualified recommendation to Casa Contenta.

Casa Contenta paradise

Our stay at Casa Contenta far exceeded our expectations. We have been to PV many times and stayed at all the 5 star+ hotels but this setting and villa was the most beautiful of all our accommodations. Our family enjoyed lounging on the veranda, whale watching from the incredibly beautiful infinity pool, wonderful breakfasts prepared by Mauri, and relaxing in the sun. It was an easy ride to town and the sunsets every night were breathtaking. We will definitely return.

Perfect location and beautifuls views

Ola! The photos on the website do not do this beautiful home justice. Walking through the archway onto the terrace was like arriving in paradise. The view is breathtaking. We spent our days exploring the town and the surrounding areas. We spent our cocktail hours watching whales and beautiful Banderas Bay. We had three couples and were very comfortable. Another couple could have been easily accommodated but the view from the smallest suite is not as grand. This home is just as comfortable as it is beautiful. It is totally open so you feel like you are out in the wonderful weather all the time. I think that Diane and John have a vacation home that surpasses expections. Thanks Mari and Mercedes. You made us feel welcome and comfortable. Do not miss a trip into the Sierra Madre to San Sebastian and make sure you stop at the Hacienda San Sebatian Tequilla Distillery on the way. Also, make sure to take a trip to Bucerias, a beautiful wide beach. Walking up and down the hill is a great daily walk, but it is best to have a car. We had one of the best vacations ever and would not hesitate to recommend this home to other travellers. Adios!
Owner's Response: Thank you for all your wonderful comments. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Casa Contenta and enjoyed Puerto Vallarta. I wish somehow we could capture the "Wow" factor through photographs, but you just have to experience it in person! We would love to have you back.
Dianne

Casa Amazing

We simply loved this place and found it difficult to leave. The kitchen being fully equiped allowed us (4 gourmet chefs btw) to dine "at home" after cocktails on the terrace overlooking a spectular view of the bay. Grocery shopping was a fun adventure in itself. We have nothing negative to say about amazing Contenta, though I must admit I thought it was a stand alone Villa and then discovering its one of 3 condos hugging a high cliff. Condo shmondo, the place is totally private, seems like it stands alone but has the added security of an additional entrance gate. Forget walking anywhere, just take a taxi (3 people anywhere in PV for $6) which arrives in less than 3 minutes. PV is a great place and Contenta is a great place to have as your home base, if you can pry yourself off the deck or out of the infinity pool to venture out.
