Contemporary Family House with 4 bedrooms, on a back road in the Catskills

Nestled on 4 acres, our 2400 square footage house offers a nice open main floor with kitchen/dining areas filled with sun light thanks to three floor to ceiling windows overlooking the yard (with magnificent butterfly bushes) with Southern exposure. Some french sliding doors open from the dining room to the deck - very convenient to entertain in summer time with outdoor furniture and BBQ.

The living room is a cozy seating area with sofas facing a burning stove which heats up nicely the room in the winter.

Adjacent to the living room, our TV/family room enables you to relax in a comfy sofa or for the kids to be creative at a desk to do some art work or homework depending on their mood... that room is also filled with sun with a Southern and Western exposure with a bow window facing the pond. A nice place to observe wild life sometimes...

On that same floor, there is another section with a bathroom (shower), the laundry room and a guest bedroom with a queen bed.

Upstairs, you will find the master bedroom with a queen bed, very bright (three exposures and bow windows), facing the yard and a balcony looking over the stream and the pond. Across there is a room with a single bed and a toddler bed and the last room is set up with two single beds. There is another bathroom upstairs with bath tub/shower (combined).

We fell in love with Woodstock and vicinity couple years ago coming up from the city to 'check it out'.

We grew up in France, in the South, in the vineyards where the sun and outdoor experiences were daily - we wanted our kids to grow up with significant experiences with nature and thought this could be a very cool place for them. We love summers' outings and skiing in the winter, so the Catskills is the great combination of all we needed!!!

Right away the laid back atmosphere of the area, the wonderful Catskills region with so many outdoors possibilities all year round and the open mind of this specific 70's movement suited us.

Finding this house was not easy... We knew we wanted open floor plan, a lot of light but at the same time to feel cozy inside on winter days.

We found it and would be more than happy to share it with our guests!

What makes this house unique

We wanted our girls to be able to run, bike, go in the woods and our property is set on 4 acres on pretty flat ground which makes it easy for them to go have fun and for us to watch them, relaxing from the deck or from our Adirondack chairs/hammock in the yard. The house is contemporary with a country farm style, filled with sun light and very convenient to live in. We like to have friends over and the open floor plan is great to do so; have dinners in the living room as well as entertain on the deck with outdoor furniture and BBQ.

My family and I stayed in this house for a few days over the Christmas break and found it to be warm, charming and inviting. The house is immaculately kept, the furniture simple and comfortable and the setting is quiet and private, but still close enough to Woodstock and Saugerties villages. Our two boys enjoyed playing outside and it was a very family-friendly home. I'd recommend it highly and plan to go again if possible!
