Wonderful Week

My family and I just returned from a wonderful week together at Emma's. The house was just the right size for us-3 adults(myself, mother and brother), 2 children with other family members popping in and out. We liked the two small porches and the painted floors. Having 2 bathrooms was great and the kitchen was quite large. We also enjoyed the trains going by and all of the wildlife in the backyard.
Our children are 4 years old and could easily walk or be pulled in a wagon to the beach. They enjoyed the water, sand, and playground. We could also pull them to town or ride their bikes along the beach. We were very surprised how great the Children's Museum was inside. Don't be fooled by its humble exterior. It's amazing! We also loved the pizza place at the train station and the resturant 'Port'.
Finally the owners were wonderful. They always answered all of our question and were continually kind to us. Thanks for a great week!
Owner's Response: Thank you! We are delighted that you enjoyed Emma's Cottage and all that St. Joe has to offer! Please come back and visit again soon. Jennifer

We stayed at this property last year at the end of the season. It was ideally located for my family! We have 2 small girls, and it was really nice being so close to the beach! Literally a two block walk! It was close enough to everything that we rode bikes the entire time. We rarely got into the car to go somewhere! The owners were great to work with, and very quick to answer questions. We can't wait to come back next year!

I loved the the painted wood floors and lots of room in the bedrooms. The location was FANTASTIC as you could walk to the beach, kids museum, and downtown easily. The owners communicated quickly and consistently. The place was clean and well maintained and it was especially great that they let the dogs stay.

My only issue is that I'm a light sleeper and the train runs through the night in the backyard. The kids loved the train but it was hard for some of the adults! All in all, great place.

Great location at a great price. We enjoyed our weekend stay at Emma's Beach Walk Cottage while in town for a friends wedding. Within walking distance to the beach and downtown shopping was a plus! Would recommend this place for anyone looking for a great summer beach/cottage house.

The house was generally comfortable and "kid-proof". The kitchen was nice, but could use more pots/pans, utensils to be fully functional. The lack of a working dryer was a bit of a struggle for a week-long stay, but was temporary. We had a great time and the kids loved the trains and the raccoons!

What a fun place to stay--it really is like going to grandma's--including the backyard woods! The beach is so close that even my 2 year old granddaugher made the walk twice--she was carried back each time, but that's okay. We had everything we needed, and Jennifer and Ken were genuinely interested in us having a good time. "The Thanksgiving at Lake Michigan" will be a memory our family will cherish forever. Of course, it also helped that the weather was PERFECT! Sandy

We want to thank you for our great vacation. Jim and I had the
most relaxing, blissful rest in St. Joseph, and count it as one of our
very favorite vacations. The house was in a perfect location relative to the beach. Jim also loves trains, so he was like a kid in a candy store every time the train rumbled through the back. Your renovations are very nice, and, as random neighbors wandered by, they
commented on the improved look of the place. We are already making plans for next year.
