Not the best but not terrible either.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was happy with the location.
The vacation rental was very clean.
The property manager was more than helpful.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

Things didn't start out well. The gate code provided for 1st time entry didn't work. Turns out, they change the code on the 1st of the month. We arrived on the 2nd and had been given the code for the previous month. Fortunately, a maintenance man was working near the gate and let us in. First impressions of the unit were that it needed updating. It looks like it have been 10 or 15 years since anything was changed. When we arrived, it smelled very musty. An industrial fan was blowing in the main floor bedroom. The carpet in the closet was pulled back and the fan was blowing under the carpet. I called property management for some sort of resolution and they said they would take care of it. I also commented on the musty smell. We left for dinner and came back to find the fan gone and a can of air refreshener in a bag on the door handle. The refer light was burned out and every 3 way bulb in the place only worked on 1 setting so the unit is kind of dark at night. The place was clean and we kept it that way so there were minimal issues with ants. This was our first time on Oahu and we didn't realize how far the North Shore was from everything so we spent a lot of time in the rental car. We rented for 7 nights but didn't stay the last night. I was tired of driving so we booked a room in Honolulu. With a little updating and some TLC this could be a very nice unit. You do get what you pay for so, overall, we weren't unhappy. Just remember, it's at least an hour drive to Honolulu so take that into consideration.

Just Okay!!

Overall experience was satisfactory! However, some things could be improved. The condo seemed like it had not been dusted, swept or vaccumed when we arrived. Lei's on lamps looked dead and kitchen broom and equipment very well worn and old. We also found a tooth in the upstairs loft, which suggests indequate cleaning. I understand the ant problem in Hawaii, but it was a problem in the kitchen. We still had a great time but felt the condo could have been cleaner!

The Estates itself was wonderfulstayed here meny times and we have stayed here many times as "local" tourists for family events or just to escape the hubub for a few days, 110 West however needs renovating.. the queen bedroom had a bad water leak (if you got out of bed on the left side you got very wet feet so you could only get out of bed on the right side or from bottom of bed and you could not use the closet) also the room smelled damp, and we were given 2 different stories as to the reason for the leak by the cleaners and by the office...the cleaners saying itr had just started the day before we arrived and the office having a total different story..the people above us had a leaking hot tub, (there was no condo above us) and no offers to recompense or prevent other rentors coming in after us...there was also very few dishes to eat off in this house and no bowls for cereal etc...overall though wwe enjoyed the estates!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was clean.
The property manager was somewhat unhelpful.

We have stayed in different units before at turtle bay, this was the first time we had stayed at this particular unit and it was alright. The ants were a big problem and there was extensive water leakage in the bottom floor guest room to the point that it covered the entire carpet area in front of the closet making the closet unusable. Because of the water and it was apparent from the mold that this leak was not the first, there was a musty smell as well. We called the management company first on Saturday night and didn't get a return call until Sunday evening and a visit Monday morning from a maintenance worker holding a can of ant spray which we had already bought Saturday night. Thankfully it wasn't an emergency, but it was an inconvenience that didn't seem to be a top priority. The first time we rented with this management company the property was ant free and no issues so we didn't have any concerns. We also paid more for this particular property due to size but it was not in better condition. I was disappointed that the management company was not more prompt to address the flooding (which apparently happens due to a neighbors hot tub) or didn't feel the need to quickly rectify or even apologize. I do feel we overpaid for what we got, We go to Hawaii 3-4 times a year and rent a variety from condos to homes, but this may be the last time with this company.
