Downtime at Rainbow Lake

JGD Scottsdale, AZ
Review Submitted: September 1, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
My family recently spent a very relaxing week at this lovely home situated on Rainbow Lake. The home was very well equipped and served our needs completely. The property was well maintained and the owners were extremely helpful. It was so peaceful to sit outside in the cool mountain air and read or just kick back and relax OR watch the heron and ducks down by the dock. Our son discovered canoeing & fishing and felt quite accomplished by the end of the week. If you're looking to get away from the heat of Scottsdale this is ideal.

A lovely place for a vacation!

We just returned from an extended stay at this property. We loved it! It’s a spacious house, comfortable and well-furnished and being on the lake is such a bonus. The views are beautiful and so restful. We shared the time with our daughters and their families and the grandkids loved being able to catch fish from the dock, swim, and canoe on the lake. The guest suite gave us room and privacy when another family was there. It’s well located near good restaurants, shopping, and other attractions. We loved walking around the neighborhood or nearby Woodland Lake. The owners were very helpful and easy to work with.

One negative for summer visitors would be the spiders. The Pinetop area has many and they love to be near the water. It wasn’t a problem for us, but someone allergic to or very afraid of them would not be happy.

All in all, we had a great and very relaxing vacation! We hope to return again next year and would certainly recommend this place to others.

This is a wonderful home right on the lake. We enjoyed canoeing around the lake and fishing each morning. The neighborhood called the Shores is very nice and quiet and great for bicycling or walking. Home is very clean and well maintained and the owners are very responsive and helpful. We would definitely rent this place again and we highly recommend it.

Perfect Getaway!

We had a blast up there. The house is beautiful and the views are breathtaking!!

Caught a ton of catfish too! : ) Our friends even came over and fished out the dock; they were having a hard time catching anything where they were staying. They were so impressed that they asked us for the information needed to book their next vacation there.

We are definitely going to come back and recommend it to our friends! The pictures posted do not do the house justice. It was much better then we expected.

It was a perfect vacation!

Beautiful lakeside cabin

Mick and Nancy Oro Valley, Az
Review Submitted: March 29, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
We have rented this warm and welcoming "cabin" on three separate occasions totalling two and half months, all in the summer. The moment you walk in you feel the weight of the world go away and you know you have started your vacation. One of the best things about the cabin is the separate guest quarters allowing two couples/familes to be together yet live on their own time schedule. Early risers, late risers, no problem you are totally separate with separate entrances.

The umbrella table and furniture make sitting on deck an all day affair, just soaking up the sun or just gazing out onto the lake. Because the community is gated the only traffic on the road is the home owners, no lookie-loos.

The accommodations are quality and well cared for. You can even sit in the master bedroom and read or just watch the world go by. The kitchen is well stocked even for gourmands or you could just dine at one of the closely located restaurants.

Great experience

This cabin comes highly recommended. My family and I have rented this cabin on two occassions: one during the winter and one during late summer. Both visits were fantastic! The owners gave us very detailed instructions, which were extremely helpful and well thought out. In addition to always finding this cabin clean and well maintained, the property offers beautiful views of the lake from the deck and several rooms in the house. If you're looking for a cabin experience with a nice community of restaurants and shops nearby, this rental property is for you!

Who knew this was available in Arizona!

Review Submitted: March 6, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2008
My wife and I were looking for a place to get away for the summer and came across this amazing lake house. We are from Newport Beach and we find summers there to be overcrowded due to all out of state visitors trying to beat the heat. From the moment we enter the gated community we felt like we were home. It is a gorgeous home with the perfect master suite get-away. The owners left us a bottle of wine to enjoy our first night….such a nice touch.
The neighbors treated us like we had lived there for years. The late is beautiful. The town is charming. We cannot wait to go back in winter to take advantage of the nearby ski resort.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Comfortable home in Beautiful Rainbow Shores

luvnlakeside Phoenix AZ
Review Submitted: July 29, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
This home was large and comfortable for at least 10 people. big kitchen with all amenities for cooking nice meals. 3.5 bathrooms were also nice, open great room with lots of floorspace. Access right on the lake for fishing but bring bug spray for evenings. Bed mattress are extra firm if you like that good if not bring a pad. There was no DVD player for the TV but there is satellite.
Owner's Response: Our lake house is large and comfortable, however out of respect for the neighbors, we do limit the number of guests, including children, to a total of eight. Thank your for your interest in our home. Patricia

We rented this beautiful house over the 4th of July weekend in 2005. What a great place to not only escape the heat of the Valley but to get away from the hectic pace of normal day to day life - but I was still able to watch SportsCenter every night on the Direct TV system. We spent every morning on the back deck overlooking Rainbow Lake drinking coffee and taking in the beauty that surrounded us. We even caught a couple of catfish from the boat dock. Hiking, shopping, and a scenic lift ride were all minutes away. We would highly recommend this vacation home for anyone looking to get away from it all.
