My first trip to Edisto was in the 5th grade, made one more trip a couple of years later with my family. I am now 61 and we planned this trip because my neice had moved there. Could not have had a better time!! House was great, Island very friendly and I would recommend Whaleys for fun!! GO.... we are going back real soon!!

We loved the layout...two bedrooms main level on opposite ends of the house and one downstairs, all with private baths. The queen beds were all comfortable. (Didn't use the bunks so don't know about them.) Each room had lots of space...more so than some larger houses I've stayed in. One bath was very small but it worked just fine. The front porch has 4 rockers and the back deck is large with lots of seating. Under the house is a nice outdoor living area with picnic table, rocking chairs & a porch swing. The front yard has two tree swings and a nice bench. The house was clean, the decore nice, but the couches were a bit shabby and uncomfortable. The beach access was close so the walk to the beach was not bad. The only downside we encountered were the sand spurs in the back yard. They stick to everything and we learned quickly not to wear our shoes into the house so we'd not carry the spurs inside. Beware, they are painful if you step on them with bare feet. Overall, we loved the house and would recommed it to a small family or small group of friends. With only three adults in our party, this was the perfect house for us.

Kids loved the swings hanging from the big oak tree. The hammock was great for enjoying the breeze. So relaxing to just sit in the evenings and rock on the front porch.
Only a short stroll to the beach.
