Set on six acres, on a private dirt road, this secluded contemporary home features a clean, cool, modern sensibility, The living/dining room, complete with Vermont Castings wood stove for cozy winter nights, has vaulted ceilings and wood floors, and borders an open country kitchen with all new stainless-steel appliances and center island. Large windows, plus a separate screen porch built with mahogany wood, give the house an airy, casual, but chic feel. Along with a main-floor master suite, are two additional bedrooms upstairs that overlook the 32-by16 foot family room. All bedrooms feature queen size beds. Outside, a deck that completes this rural retreat, perfect for any family looking to ease their living year-round, or for a second-home owner wanting a little more room to relax or for friends to share for any one of the beautiful Berkshire seasons.

Only 10 minutes from Catamount and 15 minutes to Butternut Ski Resorts.

Short drives to hundreds of Berkshire attractions like the Norman Rockwell Museum, Tanglewood, Hancock Shaker Village, Berkshire Theatre Festival, The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, downtown shopping and dining in Great Barrington, Stockbridge and Lenox.

About The Owner

I moved to North Adams from Boston, MA 11 years ago, drawn by the growing arts community, year-round culture, local historic architecture and natural beauty of the lakes, rivers and mountains. I am outgoing, enjoy the outdoors--whether hiking, swimming, biking or gardening, and I love doing restoration work on my house. I place close family relationships high on my priority list and have a group of really wonderful (and fascinating) friends who've become my 'chosen' family.

I owned a contemporary art gallery in North Adams for 5 years and have been on numerous boards of directors for area arts organizations each of my 11 years in the Berkshires. In addition to having a background in arts management I have worked for a number of years as a project management consultant for technology organizations. I shop and eat locally whenever possible--I like to support my friends and neighbors in contributing to our community.

I have traveled extensively world-wide (Europe, Asia/Asia-Pacific, US) and some of my favorite experiences and memories are related to the people I've met along the way. I thrive on hearing about other people's life experiences and stories.

After living in the city for so long, we wanted a getaway close enough to the city but far away from the hectic world. This home is perfect for really get away from it all.

There is totally privacy at this home as it is set off the road and on a small hill.

Absolutely Wonderful!

We stayed at this lovely home during Martin Luther King weekend and it was terrific. It's a very comfortable home with every amenity and it is spotless. The views are incredible from nearly every window and the photos don't really do justice to the beautiful vistas. We had our two teenage boys with us and there is a finished basement or first floor den where they spent most of their time when they weren't at Catamount. The kitchen was lovely, but lacked a microwave oven which was okay. The woodburning stove in the living room was perfect especially during the cold, snowy weekend.

The owner, Lauren, was so kind and lovely and responded to any question immediately. We will definitely stay here again and are looking forward to ur next stay.

Worth the trip

We stay at this property during the Tanglewood festival weekend and it was just perfect.
Really relaxing in a beautiful secluded tranquil setting. Perfect place to getaway, especially if you live in boston or NY. Just very warm and inviting and clean. Had a great weekend and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
