Extraordin?ary, Breathtaki?ng, Treasure by the Sea
My husband and I just returned from a very memorable stay at Casa de las Flores in Rancho Santana. We were planning a special trip to celebrate his 50th birthday and this was everything we expected plus much more. The pictures did not capture the true beauty of the home and surrounding area, nor the fragrant smell of the flowers meticulously maintained around the home.
We chose to rent a car and drive from Managua to Rancho Santana. The drive itself is worth it for the sights of daily Nicaraguan life (chickens and goats crossing the highway, fruit and vegetable stands, schools everywhere...). Upon arrival at Casa de las Flores, we instantly fell in love with the home. We were greeted by the charming staff Violeta and Sandro. They are a husband and wife team who were there each day througout our stay to clean, cook, care and even do our laundry. When we arrived, they showed us all of the features of the home and ensured we were comfortable. We immediately opened the expansive doors and windows and were transformed by the afternoon breeze from the Pacific Ocean.
The wrapping porch became a favorite spot for us to eat home cooked breakfast and later in the day, relax and watch the sunset. Having spent time in the South of France and many oceanfront locations throughout Asia, this home and venue have now become our favorite. Rancho Santana and specifically Casa de las Flores has all of the amenities of comfort, but there is a charm to the home that sets it apart from the mainstream. Each bedroom suite downstairs has a private feel with a hallway and separate closet/bathroom areas. The upstairs master bedroom provided beautiful views of the Pacific and had a very open feel, including the unique hotub embedded in the floor where the doors could be opened to enjoy the views and breeze.
The home is laid out so that couples or families can feel comfortable.
We periodically used the facilities of the main clubhouse, with an additional pool and direct access to the beach. The food at the clubhouse is fresh, gourmet and priced very reasonably. Rancho Santana also provides amenities for horseback riding, hiking and surfing.
Not to forget this home is located in Nicaragua, we were able to use it as a home base to further explore the beauty of the country and travel to nearby fishing villages and towns.
Every picture in this listing is spot on and there is so much more...We highly recommend this owner and property for your special holiday.
