The Best Property in Silver Sands!

There is only so much you can say about this place until you just go there and experience it for yourself! I have been to Cannon Cottage a few times now and everytime it gets better and better.

My favorite things include: The beach, the rum punch, the beach, the hammock, and did I mention the beach?

It is so relaxing if you are needing a getaway but only a walk away if you would like to hang out down by the bar. You could also walk 5 minutes to Leroys and enjoy live music!

Lenor, Nessie, and Barry are AWESOME! They have such a great way of making you feel at home. AND there is a never ending supply of rum punch! Fresh fruit salad in the morning is my favorite.

You owe it to yourself to come and stay here at least once...I bet you always come back!

I had the pleasure to stay at Cannon Cottage with two of my girlfriends. We arrived late at night and Nessie (one of the helpers at the house) had a DELICIOUS dinner waiting! It was like coming home after a long day of work and having the house clean and food waiting!

It was the most relaxing stay, never have I been in a place as peacful and warm. All the helpers, Lorna, Nessie and Barry were gracious, kind, and so hospitable. Karen was divine! She arranged many activities that we wanted to do at great rates! She even arranged for us girls to go up into the mountains with Barry to see the Jamaican "Bush". He made it for a very memorable adventure! :)

The beach is spectacular, a short walk away from the house. You can even take a dip in the sea at night! It's not only wonderful for families and friends, but also incredibly romantic.

The food was excellent, ask for the Akee and Saltfish for breakfast and Lorna's Pork Roast for dinner, it was all so fresh and tasty! We even had a delicious Rum Punch made (we bought all the ingredients they suggested) that made all of us very happy!!

This is not only a wonderful place to stay, but safe, and so inviting. No all inclusive can match this. It's the epitome of a relaxing beach vacation. I'm already going again next year in May!

The place was very beautiful, and the view was unbelievable!!

This place is located only a few short steps away from the beach where you can find many unbrella's and lounging chairs to relax the day away.

The beach was very nice, white sand. The only coral was out in the sea which you could see very clearly. so it was not hard to avoid it.

The convenience of having a bar and a bathroom only sleps away from where you are lounging on the beach was also a plus in my books!!!

Back to the house. When your not at the beach, your up at the house relaxing at the outdoor table and chairs or in the hammic.

The place was always very clean. Bathrooms cleaned everyday and bedding and towels changed every other day. They will even do your laundry for you if you need!

Hot meals cooked for you and cold drinks prepaired at your request.
They even made us fresh rum punch a few times. You just need to supply all the ingredients. :)

The staff is very friendly and I really hope I get to go back soon.

Without a doubt, Cannon Cottage is the best place to stay in all of Silver Sands! The rooms are clean, colorful and charming. Dining outdoors for all of the delicious meals, expertly prepared by Lorna, is delightful. Ask her for classic Jamaican breakfast; it's fantastic. The location is excellent, up above the wind and blowing sand, with a clear view of the sea, yet only steps away from the beach. The unique gardens are elegantly maintained and full of little surprises, including orchids everywhere! We love late June and early July, when the waves are bigger. Cannon Cottage is everything it promises to be, and more. We've recommended it to family and friends many times. We can't wait to get back!

This was our third trip to Cannon Cottage, our home away from home. As usual, we had a wonderful time. Lorna, Nessie, the cook and the housekeeper; Barrington, the gardener and of course Karen, the owner, have always made us feel so warmly welcomed and comfortable. Cannon Cottage has become our new home in Jamaica.
Each year we stay a little longer; this year we stayed for a whole month of heaven.
The house is in an almost fairytale tropical setting. Set back a little above the beach and backing onto a cliff. The house and cliff are surrounded by lush tropical plants of every type, loving cared for by Barrington the gardiner. Into these gardens is set a natural stone hottub in which we enjoyed many nights with our glasses of wine shaded by tropical plants. From the large front verandah/deck we had a magniicent view of the beach and sea, just a few hundred yards away.
The villa is spacious, comfortable and airy. Lorna is a terrific cook. Try any of her delighful Jamaican dishes. Lorna and Nessie keep the house itself so well maintained. We always felt very comfortable and well taken care of.
We have always recommended Cannon Cottage to friends and relatives and this year two sets of friends joined us for a week each. All were extremely happy with their stay at Cannon and still talk to us about their Jamaican holiday.

My family and I stayed at Cannon cottage in July 2008. We have stayed in about 10 different houses at Silver Sands and Cannon Cottage is one of our favorites. Lorna and Nessie were very nice and their cooking was fabulous. Barrington was very pleasant and the gardens look amazing.
The view is breathtaking and Cannon Cottage is very near to the beach, only two minutes walk. We are hoping to go again soon.

I had the most wonderful vacation at Cannon Cottage. Lorna was the best cook--and my husband and I are very demanding. Barry was a real asset. We're coming back..with friends and family.

We stayed a Silver Sands as part of a family reunion-the perfect spot. The views from the villa are spectacular and to listen to the sea is just so relaxing. The hospitality is more than excellent, with the three house attendants waiting on you every minute of the day. Beds made, washing done, mouth watering meals prepared at your request. Drinks by the seas and fall up to the villa not down to the villa. Let me tell I'm speaking from experience. Mrs Sangster is a most gracious hostess during our stay.... of I forget to tell you she' related to us but thats besides the point. Going to Duncans is fun and meeting all ther locals. Travelling around the tourists spots makes your stay memorable. I'm from Australia and I stayed at Silver Sand with my wife her sister, sisters husband, brother, brothers wife and of cause my wifes cousins. Don't contemplate going do it you wont regret one moment of your stay even if is raining the place is so relaxing just go to the bar for drinks. Cant wait to return.
