Peaceful, relaxing, and fun!

We had such a great time at Deer Crossing Inn. Cindy and Rick are amazing Inn Keepers, they really take care of you. They are so relaxed and helpful, it made our special wedding weekend the most relaxed, amazing, and peaceful time. We are so happy we got to visit their venue as all we wanted was to relax and not worry about things. Cindy and Rick made this possible for us. We had a great 4 night stay, with little to no worry, and the most peaceful environment we could have asked for. Thank you! We would suggest Deer Crossing Inn for a wedding, reunion, vacation stay, anything that you would want to be peaceful, relaxing, and fun.

A dream house for a wedding

We celebrated our wedding at Deer Crossing Inn in September and it was just amazing. The house is exactly as described, surrounded by nature, quiet yet warm. All this is thanks to the owners, Cindy and Rick, their taste, and their constant good mood and kindness. The environment, combined with the sound of the chimes on the deck at all times gives an out-of-time feel to the house that will be stay in our heads for a long time to come.
Because we don’t live nearby, we planned the event without ever visiting the house in person. Certainly, Cindy and Rick’s responsiveness, willingness to answer multiple detail questions (what are the dimensions of...? can you take a photo of...?), recommendations for other local vendors (catering, photos, etc.), and flexibility were key in making this tele-planning experience possible.
We had a lot of people come from very far away for the wedding and they all were thrilled with their stay at Deer Crossing Inn. It is definitely a great vacation house for friends or family gatherings, for big parties, for relaxing after said parties…

Fantastic home....hard to leave and sightsee!

Our kids met up with us here to do a little sightseeing in the Bay area and celebrate our 25th anniversary. We absolutely loved the house and Cindi was a perfect hostess. She settled us in and answered our questions then we were on our own.
The family had fun cooking together in the well equipped kitchen and we ate breakfast every morning on the deck. We enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace in the evening and unwound in the hot tub. We had such full days out sightseeing, we wish we would have planned a bit more time to stay at the house and simply relax! Oh, and sure enough, a doe and her fawn stopped by and lingered long enough for several photos!
We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

Deer Crossing Inn was certainly a relaxing retreat. It was clean, well maintained and full of character. I would definitely recommend the property to friends and family. The fireplace is fabulous. The hot-tub received a "best ever" rating from our group. We took an early morning hike up to untouched hill-tops with spectacular views. Mostly undeveloped surroundings, and only fifteen minutes from home in Castro Valley. Staff was attentive when needs arose.

I stayed here for a week with my Ultimate Frisbee team from the University of Pittsburgh. It was by far the best spring break trip we've ever had! The house is beautiful and we loved everything about it, from the game room to the hammock chairs on the deck (not to mention the hot tub). Also, Cindi and Rick were absolutely wonderful and helped with whatever we needed...and didn't mind when we placed music loudly on the deck :) I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys great service and is looking for a beautiful hideaway in the mountains!

Deer Crossing Inn - Wonderful Time

We rented the Inn for our wedding. Our family of 18 stayed at the house - 10 adults and 8 children and we were more than happy with the accomodations for us all. Our kids with children stayed in the 3 rooms upstairs - our room downstairs offered us the privacy and quiet when needed:) Plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing and still we were all under one roof and able to spend an incrediable 4 days togeher. Perfect family time and Rick and Cindi were the best in helping out with anything.

Awesome wedding weekend!

We stayed here for our recent wedding that was held at the westover winery just up the road. The house was awesome! It was perfect for our group. The house was beautiful. The grounds are amazing and we saw deer everyday! I would highly recommend this house to any group who wants a great place to hangout together. We'll be back!!!!

Birthday Bash Extravaganza - Success at Deer Crossing Inn

Deer Crossing Inn was just the perfect venue for my big birthday bash in March. Four days with 20 friends and family at an ideal location was made all the more fabulous by the easy, professional style of Cindi and Rick Hines. They accommodated every need and anticipated every want.
On Saturday night, we had 50 more people join us for a party of grand proportions. Everybody raved about the venue and wanted to know how we had found such a wonderful place for this private event.
From the very large, chefs dream kitchen, to the beautifully appointed rooms, to the perfect for large crowds living room with huge fireplace – Deer Crossing Inn was just a fantasy spot come true for me. The grounds are private and well kept, the hot tub is yummy and the sound of frogs and crickets were our background melodies each night and in every video we took that night too.
Thanks to Cindi and Rick. I can’t say enough about their sincere desire to make our event the best one ever without being intrusive. The place was ours – literally and figuratively from the moment we arrived on Thursday afternoon to the minute we left on Monday. We never saw them unless we needed them and then they were right there. How great is that?
Go there! You won’t regret it.
