Wonderful place, on the quieter and beautiful east
side of town. "Million dollar views" of the ski
slopes, well-stocked house, clear directions all over
the house to guide you. A rainy day was well spent
with plenty of games, books, movies and high-
speed internet (for our laptop). Sunny days spent
even better exploring the mountains where a
lifetime couldn't exhaust the options.
Not the closest home to the slopes - which is
exactly what I wanted, as I was looking more for a
retreat than the "ski all day, party all night" side of
town. A quarter mile walk to the "Upper Flume"
trail, which connects to miles and miles of walking,
running, biking trails. A few more minutes to the
endless National Forest trails branching off Gold
Run Rd at the top of the (long, steep) hill. And a 15
minute drive to some of the Rockies most scenic /
famous hikes, or just take the lift up a
mountainside.
Best of all, the owner was a pleasure to work with.
A real person, not just a faceless property
management firm. She explained the layout, and
pointed us to young family activities and
restaurants in town. Less an "investment property",
and more like staying at a lent home of a friend.
Guests have responded in kind, and seem to leave
it better than they found it.
