Year-Round 4 BR 2.5 BA Lakeside Home with Spectacular Lake Views

Our cozy cottage on Santuit Pond in Mashpee, Cape Cod, is on a quiet wooded street. Enjoy tree-framed views of the lake from almost every room. Our location offers access to many parts of the Cape, including Cape Cod National Seashore. Shopping, movies, and ocean beach are nearby.

Main entry brings you to the den, open kitchen, dining and living rooms. A large deck on the lake side includes a gas grill and outdoor eating area with terrific views. 2 bedrooms--queen and twin/king --and a bath are one level up and 2 more--queen and twin--and a bath are one level down. On the ground level you can walk out to a quiet office, or down steps to the lake. 3 living areas, including a Foosball table, allow room for the family to engage in various activities, and we have 2 TVs with DVD and VCR. A maximum of 13 can sleep in the four bedrooms plus queen sleeper sofa, double futon, and daybed, and a porta-crib.

No smoking indoors and please remove all traces of smoking outdoors. No pets, please. Minimum contract age 25.

Amenities: Fully equipped, recently remodeled kitchen with everything you'd expect to find, including lobster pots.

All linens are provided for bed, bath, and beach. 2 cable TVs with VCR and DVD, and a huge selection of movies. Stereo, CD, high-speed wireless internet, indoor and outdoor eating areas, books and games, phones, office, washer/dryer, central AC, gas fireplace in LR, gas barbecue.

Activities: Swimming, boating, fishing, biking, golf, movies, fitness center, shopping, ocean beach.

Area: Mashpee is midway between Falmouth and Hyannis, not far from Sandwich, on the Upper Cape. An hour's drive takes you to Provincetown, an hour and a half to Boston or Providence. Almost any activity you might wish for your holiday is within easy access. A favorite activity is just sitting on the deck to enjoy the lake views while you sip your coffee in the morning.

When we remodeled the kitchen we thought about the extended families (including our own) who enjoy staying and cooking at Tree House. The island with vegetable prep sink and stools for chatting with the cook, stainless appliances, large dining tables both indoors and out--all make it easy to center your social life around meals. The den, living room, and family room on different floors also work well for many guests' family arrangements, so you can chat, play games, watch different movies at the same time. Of course there are plenty of places to eat out or watch the latest movies on the big screen if that fits your wishes. And you'll find numerous places to take walks, enjoy the beach, go to the islands for the day, browse for antiques.

A gem of a property

I rented this house for my extended family to celebrate Dad's 75th birthday, and it didn't disappoint on any level. It was such a welcome sight to walk into the beautiful den and dining room and see the lake in the background. Over the course of our week there, we never tired of the view.

The owner did everything to make sure we had what we needed for a worry-free vacation: good directions, lots of travel information in the house, can't-miss recommendations on everything from beaches to farm stands to seafood stores, plenty of books and movies for the rare rainy days, and even a welcome basket to greet us after a long day of travel.

It's a really comfortable space, and a tastefully decorated one. We never felt crowded and given that we love to cook, we appreciated the top-notch kitchen. Never had to buy any kitchen gadgets. They have everything!

Mashpee is a great spot to be, as it will save you from having to not only get to the Cape but then drive further up route 6 (which can get congested). It's a good starting point for day trips to a wide variety of different beaches, antiquing, the quintessential Cape mini golf courses and plenty of quaint little towns. Nothing's more than an hour drive away from this house.

Without hesitation, I'd rent this again, and would give anything to be sitting on the back deck with my coffee this morning, watching the sun rise over that pretty lake.

Beautiful view. Enjoyed eating our meals overlooking the lake. Even went for a dip, cold but refreshing. Ten of us, all survived! Enjoyed the lake & fully equipped kitchen.

Anniversary celebration

Celebrating our 50th anniversary with our entire family at the Tree House was fabulous. Really don't want it to end. Adventures to Chatham, Provincetown, Martha's Vineyard, Plymouth Rock and Plimoth Plantation, South Cape Beach and the pond were terrific fun.

Our celebration dinner at the Popponesset Inn made our special anniversary the best ever!!! Extended family living here came over for a barbecue and loved the Tree House. They oohed and aahed over our views and the layout of the house.

Family from Nevada (Lake Tahoe), Texas, and San Diego had an amazing stay. Thank you for your prompt attention to the microwave. The part ordered arrived and it should be fixed by Monday. No worries as the spare works great! Thank you.

Great time at Tree House

We had a great time! We met a family of ducks, swans, and saw a lot of turtles as well.

We loved the view and had plenty of time to swim and fish. The weather was beautiful every day! We went to the beach almost every day. We visited Provincetown, Woods Hole, and Hyannis. We hate to leave--we loved it here! Thanks

Wonderful time

We had a wonderful time. It was great to wake up and see the sunrise on the lake. On the dock we made friends with the ducks. On the last day a family of swans stopped by for some bread. They were beautiful and majestic.

Weather was great--rained the first few days but finished beautifully. Loved it here, would love to come back.

I haven't been to the Cape in 25 years and Tree House was the perfect place to return to. It is so beautiful and peaceful here. My family expected more beachy congestion, so were delightfully surprised. The house is beautiful, the lake great to swim and boat on. PS The wifi made it easier with teens.
