Great Vacation Rental w/ many perks

Our family vacationed @ this property from July 11 - July 18, 2009 with another family. In all there were 7 of us + one very happy Beagle named Shilo.
The homeowners were very friendly and accomodating. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything that you would need + more. It was also nice, not to have to pack linens for the beds .. they were also provided for us. The home also had a computer with wireless internet access, which was a plus .. we did not have to come home to 1000 emails .. we could check them daily.
The deck was a great place to enjoy coffee in the AM and drinks in the evening. Our dog Shilo, loved the deck, however we had to block the stairs so he did not wander off. We enjoyed campfires, cooked dinner on the gas grill and docked 2 boats @ the dock provided to us by the homeowner. There was ample parking for both our vehicles and boat trailers. The property has a gentle slope to the docks, which made loading up the boats very easy.
We shopped in Freeport, we beached our boats @ the sandbar @ the State Park, just around the bend from the property. We met the owners father Jake, who gave our boys alot of information about fishing and where to visit on the Lake. We had lunch @ Frye Island, which was a nice treat .. and the boys swam into the cave @ Frye's Leap. We had dinner @ the Lobster Pound, which has a very nice wait staff.
The weather during out stay was good .. temps in mid to upper 70's with the water temp between 68 and 71 degrees. The boys enjoyed fishing, tubing and skiing while on the Lake.
We had a great week and we would highly reccomend renting this property if you are considering Sebago Lake.

Great Location, Relaxing Vacation

Our family and extended family of 12-14 people enjoyed ourselves at this great location. There are many extras provided by the owners for an enjoyable time - all the firewood you could want, 2 gas grills, a kitchen stocked with all the basics, and even a power generator which assures that if the power goes out, you still have power. There was also enough air conditioning units to keep the entire place at whatever temperature you desire.
The downstairs area was a perfect escape for our children, and as indicated by others, there are plenty of televisions (6) as well as a computer with internet access in the basement.
The listing is accurate regarding what you'll get, so make sure to understand about the waterfront and the swimming. Our young kids (2-7) had no problem swimming off the dock, but the older ones only tried it once. There are very close beach options which are free of milfoil, so we did that for our beach needs. The owners also provide you a State Park pass to use, which saved us lots of $ on what we would have had to pay to go to Sebago Cove (10 mins). Muddy River provides an excellent area for boating activities, as the water is much calmer than in Sebago Lake.
The owners were very friendly and checked in on us when the power was out, and when we had a small issue with the AC unit.
I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice quiet escape. We enjoyed every day of our 2-weeks there!

Great place for our family to enjoy our vacation

This home is perfect for enjoying a quiet vacation on the water front at Sebago lake. The cove is settled between two hills facing west. We had wonderful,picture perfect sun sets. My husband and brother in law were in seventh heaven with the fantastic fishing the cove and lake provided. We had salmon for dinner one night. The home owners provided everything needed to just sit back and enjoy. The children loved the game room downstairs and there is no shortage of TV's in the home to keep everyone happy with what they wanted to watch. We were within minutes of boating distance to the crooked river where we went thru the locks and continued on to Brady pond and long lake. The drive-in theater was a huge treat for my children who had never been to one before. We hope to return next year.

Great Vacation Get a way

We actually rented this lovely home last spring and are planning on returning again this year. The home is very spacious as well as the surround deck. Nature is very much alive in this area of the lake. My husband came for the fishing. The cove is very quiet and protected from the rough water. The weather was great, in fact I brought my small children to the area beach and the cove water was warmer than the big lake. The sunsets were beautiful.
The owners had everything we needed for a great week.

Milfoil lake

The house,deck and fire pit area were all beautiful. Plenty of supplies and furniture in every area. The disappointment with this rental came when I walked down to the water and out on the dock. The water was the most disgusting lake water I have ever seen. What looked like milfoil is growing rampant. My family all love to swim and did not swim in front of this place at all. So this is not the place for anyone who wants to be able to swim right where they are staying. I also feel people should be advised of this before spending a large amount for their summer vacation since good swimming is an expectation for people renting on a lake.
Owner's Response: We are happy you enjoyed our home. In regards to the shore line it is unfortunate you did not understand that swimming off our property's shoreline was not perfect. Sebago Cove is an extension of the Muddy River. It provides great protection from the constant wind and waves you experience on the big lake and is reknowned for it's outstanding bass fishing.
Because it is a soft bottom cove there are numerous plant life in the cove but it has never preventded excellent boating, tubing and skiing in this protected area. In fact the girls camp around the corner uses our cove for ski lessions for the girls.
We did promote the availability two of our associaiton beach's one located 400 feet the other located 1/8 mile down the road. Both contains a sandy bottom.
Our pricing is in line with the number of people we can accommadate with waterfront access to Sebago lake. The homes outside the cove area that accommadate the number of guests we do costs more than our weekly rate.
