Sea Spray was built as a Gulf-front getaway by two close families who still own it today. The cottage has been enjoyed by their children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren. Each side of the duplex has identical mirror-image floor plans with twin beds that can be made into a king and sofa(s) and/or inflatable beds for extra guests up to a maximum capacity of four people per side.
We are proud to share our little piece of heaven with guests during the temperate Florida winters. In the past we have had the good fortune of renting repeatedly to returning seasonal customers, the longest for over nine years. We know they held Sea Spray as a home away from home close to their hearts. Now could be your opportunity to find that perfect retreat from the cold winter months of the North that you will revisit time and again.
Debbie Long, one of the granddaughters, now helps coordinate renting out the units from Richmond, Virginia. Other family members located close by in Sarasota and Charlotte Counties are available to assist guests needs throughout their visit.
The owners lived in nearby Punta Gorda with their children and were looking for a way to enjoy the simpler life during the weekend when they purchased Sea Spray. Englewood Beach was, and remains, a quiet residential area with pristine beach full of wildlife. It was an ideal sanctuary from daily life. Their children, children's children, and now great grandchildren have all enjoyed playing in the calm, refreshing Gulf waters, collecting sharks teeth and shells, and fishing while the adults caught up under the shaded trees. The trees were planted soon after the property was purchased and now are the unique feature that distinguishes Sea Spray from neighbors.
We are located directly on Englewood Beach at 1110 Shoreview Drive. Only two studio units occupy this site, giving you more privacy than nearby properties. There is no beach easement on Sea Spray, which means those in surrounding residences will not be crossing your yard to access the beach. (Some places advertise they are 100 yards from the beach, but their guests must use a public easement, which may not be located “just across the street.”)
Despite its location directly on a private beach, it is hard to see Sea Spray from the Gulf of Mexico because it boasts five large trees that shade its deck. I'll be honest, it makes taking pictures of the property's outside very difficult, but the trees enhance the actual experience of staying at Sea Spray tremendously! You have the luxury of viewing the ocean from the kitchen, bed, and sitting area, and your deck will be shaded.
