Photos and Description of the Laupahoehoe vacation house rental
House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-5)

In need of a relaxing vacation? Try our guest home on the Big Island.

We are happy to invite you to our beautiful and secluded home with breathtaking ocean view. It is located in the Waipunalei area of Laupahoehoe, above the beautiful and famous Laupahoehoe Point. The guest home has a great lanai to sit for hours looking at an unobstructed view of the ocean, whales in the winter, and occasionally double rainbows.

It is nestled about 500-feet above sea level on the slopes of Mauna Kea, the magnificent 13,796-foot mountain that in the winter is actually snow-capped. Laupahoehoe Point is a mile down the road from the house... one of the most beautiful miles you will ever walk or drive... vistas of green cliffs, often with waterfalls dropping to the blue-green ocean. When you get to the Point, there is some of the most spectacular rugged coastline you will ever see.

Our home in Waipunalei is on a five-acre pasture land with the most beautiful ocean view. It features two bedrooms and one bath, fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, living room, TV, VCR, phone, washer and

dryer. Two rooms have queen-size beds with additional futons if needed.

Here are some of our previous guest comments:

* 'What a treasure you have here. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - it was so relaxing and beautiful. Being a farm girl, I very much enjoyed the cows, horses, the wild pigs.

The view is so spectacular that we don't really want to leave. When we visit the Big ISland again, we will definitely stay with you. 'Thanks you for the wonderful fruit and flowers'.

Thank you again for your hospitality.

* 'Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful vacation home. We truly enjoyed our stay. Your home is very well stocked with everything we needed and then some. It's a lot more spacious than pictures can do it justice and it is very private. The ocean views were the best we had while staying on the Big Island.

We hope to be back again sometime and we'll recommend your home to anyone we know traveling to the big island'.

Mahalo,

Phil & Alexis (Hartford CT)

* 'Waking up here and eating papaya on the lanai to coming back after full days of fun was delightful! Better than we had hope for. Staying here, really made our vacation...' Holscher/Wolking Family (Minneapolis MN).

* 'We cannot begin to describe how much we've enjoyed the last eight days spent here. The house, the view, everything was wonderful. The house was perfect! You folks are so lucky to live in such an incredibly

beautiful place...' Ted and Karen Gardner, (Stevensville, MI).

These are just some of our previous guest comments. You too will enjoy this beautiful vacation house at an affordable price!!!

Great little house on the north shore

My wife and I were very impressed with the setting - it's remote and beautiful surrounded by meadows and gardens with bearing citrus trees in the yard! The house is well furnished and very clean with great views of the ocean and neighboring countryside. It's all we'd hoped for and more!

Listing is out of date of bed size

Submitted: September 27, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
The listing claims 2 queen sized beds are available. When we stayed both beds were Double (Full). NOT Queen. If you want to sleep 2 adults per bed you are talking a serious squeeze. Also be warned the owner requires you to haul your trash to the dump, which is only open 3 days a week. If you leave on a day it is closed you will have an interesting time finding somewhere to take your trash.
Owner's Response: Our guest satisfaction is our main concern. Thanks for pointing out the size of the bed. Hawaii the Big Island doesn't have a trash hauling system not like other places we will provide a bigger trash bin so our guest are not required to haul their own trash.
We will continue to improve and make the necessary corrections, Thank you for staying with us and hope to accomodate you again in the near future.

Lush Island Beauty

This was our very first time arranging a VRBO rental, and our first time staying on this side of the island. The weather was rainy, as we anticipated... but we thoroughly enjoyed having this comfortable home base while visiting the local sites and seeing the roaring rivers and waterfalls. Evenings were magical with the expansive views of the pasture and ocean beyond... the sound of frogs through the night was a perfect backdrop for the lushness that surrounded us. We thoroughly enjoyed the basket of fruit and bought more at the farmers' markets nearby. Walking around the yard here was a treat each day... the flowers were plentiful and vibrant and the fruit trees were amazing. Thank you for sharing your home in paradise. We will be looking you up again when we return!

Truly Paradise!!

My husband and I stayed here for four nights -- definitely NOT long enough. It was so relaxing, the weather was picture-perfect and you never get tired of the views. The owners live next door, close enough if you need help or have questions, but separated by lush foliage so you have complete privacy. The house is simply furnished and very clean. You'll find a lovely bowl of fresh papaya, bananas, and other fruit upon arrival -- be sure to enjoy them! (Papaya are especially good spritzed with lemon.) We'll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our time in the "Guest House". We were there for 8 days and because the BBQ was under the carport we were able to cook on it every day even if it was raining. It is nice to be able to pick fresh fruit from the trees. We have booked again for next year and really looking forward to it.

Our stay was perfect. The view from the deck was amazing. Fresh fruit abounds. We found papaya, mango, banana, coconut, lemon, lime and orange trees (and one or two we didn't recognize) all on the property. The Hilo farmers market, Akaka Falls, Waipio Canyon and even Waimea are all a reasonable drive away. This area is lush with vegetation and fun to explore. We feel as if we barely scratched the surface for things to do. Thanks for a wonderful time.

This is a great place to stay and the description and photos are spot on- lovely garden fruits were waiting when we arrived and the Rimandos are so friendly and considerate and provide helpful suggestions for arrival. It was cool waking up to the rooster crow and seeing cows, horses, and the ocean right from the porch! This is about a half hour north of Hilo but it's still well situated to see the eastern coast sites like Volcano and Akaka Falls.
