What an outstanding find. I was a little leery about renting this place because I didn’t see any reviews. Now I know why. Anyone who has ever stayed here is probably trying to hide this gem. First, you are literally right across the street from 3 of the best beaches in Maui. Kamaole Beach Parks 1, 2, and 3. I timed it one morning and it took me 7 minutes to get from the front door of the condo to the beach. Second, you are within 75 yards of a ton of inexpensive and delicious places to eat. Third, you are centrally located so going to Lahaina, Makena, Wailea, or Kahului takes 30 minutes or less. We went to dinner one night at Mama’s Fish House in Paia which is 19 miles away. It took us 26 minutes to get there. The waves at the beaches are very gentle. The type of beach you want if you have small children, or just don’t feel like fighting the waves. If you want something more adventurous try Makena (Big Beach) which is about a 15 minute drive south on South Kihei Road. The first day we walked into the unit my wife paused at the front door, took in the view of the beach and uttered one word, “Beautiful!”
The unit was well equipped and had all the toys you could ask for. For ten days we enjoyed one unobstructed beautiful sunset after another. We had an almost unobstructed 180 degree view of the beach all the way to the West Maui Mountains. If we wanted more all we had to do was walk out the front door to the pedestrian walkway and we had a beautiful view of Maui’s upcountry. Staying in Kihei you didn’t feel like you were imprisoned in a large resort. You felt like you were visiting a beautiful small town where you got the chance to really meet the locals. The owner, was extremely helpful in making the arrangements for this place and is a very pleasant person to talk to on the phone. From the first conversation I felt like I had known her for years. She answered any question I had promptly and had all the necessary paperwork to me well before our trip. The unit and the building were clean, quiet, and the staff at the front desk was very friendly. I give this place a solid 4 stars. My two suggestions for improvement are to replace the couch in the living room and get a quieter exhaust fan for the master bathroom. One big plus for me was the washer and dryer in the unit, and don’t forget the view from the 7th floor observation deck . Outstanding!
