Exceptional Get away

From the time I saw the pictures to the time I opened the door of the cottage I had a very pleasant experience with Chris. Upon arriving at the cottage it was even more charming and cozy than I had imagined. The place is immaculate, location gorgeous and the area interesting. Day trips took me to Madison, Stoughton, Evansville, Janesvile, Fort Atkinson...lots to do and place to see.

I will be be going back - Thank you Chris and George - you are excellant hosts.

I rented the cottage to have a private sewing retreat it was the perfect setting. I felt at home as soon as drove into the driveway. I was able to watch ducks on the river and various birds at the feeders provided and stocked. The screen porch was a lovely place to relax. The cool weather made the fireplace perfect and the homey appointments made the whole experience great. I did not lack for anything while I was there, the owner's have thought of everything including suggestions on places to explore in the area. I will definitely be planning another trip to this cottage!

My husband and I just spend the best week we have spent in Wisconsin in a long time! The cottage is wonderfully decorated, I especially love the cleanliness that we found it in. I also loved the lamps that the cottage had. It is homey and not what you would think of in a rental. Most of the ones we have used in the past have had little light and what there was usually came from ceiling lights and were harsh. We were able to sit inside on the really hot days and watch the wildlife from all the feeders on the property. Everything you need is provided. We have vacationed 25 years in Wisconsin and this is the first time my husband didn't want to come home. He usually, after 3-4 days misses our dogs and wants to come home early. Not this year!! There are a lot of small towns around to explore and Janesville isn't far away if you need anything you may have forgotten. It was wonderful to get away with no interruptions and have this time together. My husband works for the city we live in and is an ordained deacon in the catholic church so we really needed this year's getaway.
We are thinking of going back in September to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and maybe we will see about taking the "girls" (dogs) with us so he can really kick back and relax.
I just can't say enough about the Cottage on the Hilltop, anyone going there would enjoy the place. You can sit on the deck and watch the river go by or sit on the screened in porch in the evening when the mosquitoes come out. If you spend any time here just be ready to relax and enjoy it all!!!

Excellent Get Away

My husband and I just spent the weekend here and it was great. I think it would be hard to find a place with all of these amenities for this price. There was nothing we were dissatisfied with. The sunroom is facing the perfect direction such that in March we were able to sit out there and read. The description said it had a bathtub, but it actually has just a shower which was fine. Everything in the kitchen worked great. It's decorated nicely and smells nicely. Sometimes cottages can smell musty or rental properties in general can smell smoky from people smoking in them previously, but this didn't smell bad at all. The sitting area faces the TV and fireplace so you can enjoy them both at the same time. We weren't able to use the deck because it was too chilly, but it looked nice. The bedroom is small, but you really don't spend much time in there. There's also a lot of windows in the cottage which brought in a lot of natual light. If that's not what you want, there was shades or curtains on every window. As always, I'm a bit leary of renting something that I haven't actually seen, but I didn't need to worry. This place met and exceeded my expectations.

Pleasant Mid West Retreat !!!!!

Wanting to do a different kind of vacation. We Chose Southern Wisconsin. Glad that we did, the cottage it self was very nicely appointed. I just loved the location on the bluff over looking the Rock River. We did all types of fun things in the area dirt track racing in Sun Prarie, A Brewers game at Miller Park, and the nice city pool in Egderton. Another neat place to the west of the cabin was the town of Monroe, it had lots of cheese and a cool bar Called Baumgartners , and Huber Brewery. On the lazy days i did some fishing and faired rather well below the dam and my girlfriend sunned on the pier. A plus that we liked was the wirless internet . The cottage had all of the conveniences of home. We would recomment this place to anyone. It was a 850 mile drive from Maryland but it was a memorable vacation. Plan to come back again in 2010

As I drove into the beautiful property I knew I had chosen the perfect place to relax. The cottage is warm and cozy, furnished with comfortable furniture and loaded with everything you can possibly need. The view of the lake is amazing and mesmerizing. It is an area that is filled with places to visit and explore. This was my first visit and I have allready booked another stay. I highly recommend this charming retreat.

The weather could have been better but the cabin was great. Me and my husband really had a relaxing time. He tried to fish but had no luck. We went to dinner in Janesville which is nice and close. Came back and had a camp fire even if it was a bit chilly it was nice.

This is the second stay for my son & I at this property and we have enjoyed both stays immensely. Quiet and secluded this is the perfect spot to unwind and do a little fishing. The owners are friendly and accomadating but not intrusive. The cabin is clean and always ready for your arrival with all the utensils, linen etc to make your stay convenient. Janesville is close by so you can shoot into town if you need to dine out or shop. I know we will be back in the future.
