Wow! This website photos absolutely undersell the beauty of this location. It was our first trip to Colorado and we couldn't have asked for a more amazingly, gorgeous base. The view from the master bedroom window is jaw-droppingly stunning in every direction.
The condo was immaculate, nicely appointed and very quiet since we were there during the waning days of ski season. There were coupon books for local shopping (much like you probably buy from your local school kids) as well as "frequent shopper" key tags for the nearby grocery store.
The view coming down the mountain from the condo into Silverthorne is breathtaking at every turn. There are other condos along the route up and down, but I doubt any have better views than this one! We didn't use the local shuttle bus but saw it frequently, so it appears like a great option for getting around the area.
We are flatlanders and make the trek from about 500 feet about sea level to 9,000+ in one day. It took all of us about 3 days to fully acclimate (Even the flight of stairs to the second floor were a challenge!) but it was so worthwhile. We filled up the hummingbird feeder on the deck and had birds within hours. We used the grill to make burgers one night and did low-key hiking around the area too.
There were kids along so we made good use of the Breckenridge and Silverthorne recreation centers (coupons were on the back of the grocery receipt as well as in local discount papers).
Sue was wonderful to work with and our security deposit was returned quickly. I'm looking forward to returning as often as I can get the time off. Speaking of time off, I had to work quite a bit in the evenings and the internet connection was more than adequate for my needs. There is a desk upstairs on the landing, which was a great spot to keep my laptop fired up.
Thank you for a fantastic time in your vacation home!
