This is not my first visit to this Shanty Creek condo. I have,stayed here many times and enjoyed each trip and stay. While this condo is not the fanciest or most well decorated, it is cozy, warm and close to all amenities. It is a great condo to be close to the slopes, walking paths, golf, tennis. It is most enjoyable to be on the balcony in the summer with a cup of coffee under the shade of the trees. I have found it clean each time I have been here and have been comfortable with the condition of the condo. I hope to stay here again.

We arrived at this unit for a family ski vacation. The first thing I noticed was the musty smell. The couches in the front room looked like they were at least 20 years old and had the dirt and grime on them to prove it. There was a hole in one of the pillows. I would not sit on these couches.
Cooking facilities were limited, as was described in the listing, but the condition of the pots and pans and other utensils was unacceptable. We had to wash everything before we used it. The pan we cooked eggs in left them in edible because there were metal flakes all through them. The stove smoked horribly because it was so dirty and the knobs on the burners were broken so it was very difficult to regulate the temperature.
When my daughter pulled back the covers to get in bed, we found a used tissue in the bed - suggesting that the linens had not been changed. There was one replacement roll of toilet paper for a condo that sleeps 9 and no soap. There were plenty of empty cardboard toilet paper tubes among the boxes of mouse bait under the bathroom sink, however.
The owner, who had been very responsive in the pre-rental phase, became totally unresponsive when I emailed him with these complaints. After the second email, I told him I would leave a negative review if I did not get a response from him. I got a one- sentence reply "I am sorry that the property does not meet your expectations.". That was the only response I was ever able to elicit. My requests for a partial refund due to the condition of the property were ignored.
I could have dealt with the dated feel of the place if it had at least been clean. The only thing this rental would be appropriate for is a bunch of frat buys who don't care about cleanliness. You can get a much nicer place up there for the same amount of money.
